Burnley v Manchester United Betting Tips – Premier League 20th January 3.00pm

Manchester United were really rattled by Burnley in their recent home game against the Clarets, having to fight back from 2-0 down to get a late draw. But they have been sold recently out on the road and are favourites for maximum points here. Burnley have gone off the boil and they are heading into this one with a six-match winless streak behind them. They have lost their last two on home soil as well so they are just struggling along at the moment and really need a boost from somewhere.

Burnley News and Form

The season has just gotten a bit tough and bit more of grind for the Clarets at the moment. This season at Turf Moor they have recorded good numbers of W5 D2 L4 but they have now lost their last two at home, going down against Spurs and Liverpool. This is another tough home game for them too. They are without a win in any of their last six games now in the top flight home and away and have suffered back to back defeats going into this, both one-goal margin losses. They need a boost of fortunes and they will likely just try and stick in there defensively and under 2.5 goals is likely to happen. There have only been sixteen goals at Turf Moor all season, Burnley scoring eight and conceding eight and just 36% of their games at Turf Moor this season have gone over 1.5 goals. 75% of the goals that they have conceded this season at home have been in the second half of matches, so there may be a bit of value in a half-time draw at William Hill. Their recent positive performance at Old Trafford in a 2-2 draw may well have given them belief for this one, but things aren’t going for them at the moment and this is going to be a hard game to win.

Manchester United News and Form

There was an easy home win for Manchester United over Stoke on Monday night as they posted a 3-0 win. That is the Red Devils with an unbeaten streak of seven top-flight matches now (W4 D3) and they have back to back wins behind them going into this one having beaten Everton and Stoke, scoring five unanswered goal s cross those two victories. Manchester United are in form away from home as well as they have gone W4 D1 in their last five road games and they have needed at least two goals in each of those too, so in the William Hill correct score market a Manchester United 2-0 option may have decent enough appeal. They haven’t conceded in any of their last three games either and are value to win to nil. United have earned a clean sheet in 36% of their away fixtures this season while they have scored in 82% of their road games. Jose Mourinho’s men can now boast the joint-best defence in the Premier League at the moment alongside Chelsea and only Man City have earned more away points than Manchester United have done in the top flight this season. A player in a nice bit of scoring form is Anthony Martial with two goals in his last two league outings.

Burnley v Manchester United Head to Head

Manchester United had to fight back hard to earn a 2-2 home draw against the Clarets just after Christmas and that comeback leaves them undefeated in their last six Premier League fixtures against Burnley (W3 D3). So they are up in the head to head and they collected 2-0 victory out at Turf Moor in the top flight last season. Manchester United have earned a clean sheet in four for their last six games against Burley now and each of the last four meetings between the two of them at Turf Moor have all gone under 2.5 goals.

Burnley v Manchester United Predictions

Manchester United to win: United have been rock solid on their travels recently in terms of points being picked up and they can deliver at Turf Moor. They are making the trip there at the right time with the Clarets struggling after back to back losses against Spurs and Liverpool. Manchester United to win to nil has appeal.
