Cardiff City News and Form – Bluebirds’ unbeaten home run to continue?

Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, have struggled to get going this term. Consistency has been a problem for the Bluebirds, as they have yet to seal back-to-back wins since returning to the Championship.

Cardiff have not won on the road since beating Manchester United at Old Trafford on the final day of last season. However, their home form has been terrific thus far, with the Welsh club winning five and drawing two of their opening seven league fixtures at the Cardiff City Stadium. Only high-flying Preston North End have picked up more home points (20).

Last weekend, Cardiff came from behind to beat Birmingham City 4-2 in a thriller in the Welsh capital, with midfielder Joe Ralls scoring the first hat-trick of his career. Will Warnock’s men stretch their unbeaten home record and claim a vital win over their rivals at the weekend?

Bristol City News and Form – Can Robins win in Cardiff for first time since 2002?

Lee Johnson’s Bristol City have had a solid start to their season. Ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures, the Robins are nicely placed in sixth, picking up an impressive 25 points from 15 league fixtures.

Bristol City have been a tough nut to crack away from home this season, winning three, drawing four and losing only once on the road in the Championship. Meanwhile, they have suffered just two league defeats overall, with only current leaders West Bromwich Albion losing fewer (one) up until now.

The Bristol club have never won at the Cardiff City Stadium, which has been open for over a decade now. However, Johnson and his troops will fancy their chances of changing that this Sunday. The Robins make the short trip over to South Wales as the 14/5 underdogs.

Cardiff City vs Bristol City Predictions

Cardiff City win: The Severnside derby may not be one of the fiercest rivalries in football, but it’s a game that both clubs are desperate to win. As I mentioned, Bristol City have not won in the Welsh capital for 17 years, and they head to Cardiff as the underdogs on Sunday.

The Bluebirds have been brilliant at home this term, seeing off the likes of Luton Town, Huddersfield Town, Middlesbrough, Queens Park Rangers and Birmingham. I fancy them to add Bristol City to that list this weekend. Put some money on the home side to win and both teams to score at 11/4.

With Robert Glatzel injured and Danny Ward suspended, Omar Bogle could lead the line for Cardiff on Sunday. Bogle scored and was sent off in the meeting at Ashton Gate back in November 2017. The 27-year-old is priced at 13/8 to net anytime in this one.
