Cardiff City vs Millwall Betting Tips – EFL Championship, 26th December 15.00pm

Neil Harris goes up Millwall for the first time since leaving the London club, as Cardiff City entertain the Lions at the Cardiff City Stadium in the EFL Championship on Boxing Day. Both sides have taken 33 points thus far, and this could be a closely contested affair in South Wales. However, Cardiff have been strong at home, and the hosts are the 13/10 favourites with the bookies.

Cardiff City News and Form – Will the Bluebirds fly away with all three points?

Neil Harris’ Cardiff City are without a win in three Championship fixtures. The Bluebirds lost at Brentford before drawing with Leeds United and Preston North End. That defeat to the Bees at Griffin Park earlier in the month is Harris’ only loss as Cardiff boss.

Cardiff have one of the best home records in the league. In fact, only Preston have picked up more home points than the Welsh outfit so far. City have won seven, drawn three and lost one of 11 home league fixtures.

Cardiff are unbeaten on their own patch since Harris took over. The Bluebirds have beaten Stoke City and Barnsley and drawn with Preston. However, having taken just two points from the last nine on offer, Cardiff will be looking for all three points in this one. This should be an entertaining fixture in the Welsh capital.

Key-Facts – Cardiff City vs Millwall

  • Only Preston have picked up more home points than Cardiff in this season’s Championship
  • Millwall are undefeated in their last four away from home, winning three and drawing one
  • Both sides are level on 33 points apiece, with Cardiff just ahead on goal difference

Millwall News and Form – Can the Lions stretch their unbeaten away run to five?

Gary Rowett has made an excellent impact at The Den since arriving back in October. Only Reading and Barnsley have beaten them in league action under his guidance.

The Lions fell to a shock 2-1 home loss to Barnsley last time out. Despite Millwall equalising with five minutes left, Patrick Schmidt’s injury-time goal gave the Yorkshire team a 2-1 victory in the capital. Prior to that, Rowett’s troops had gone seven games unbeaten, winning four and drawing three.

Millwall have been outstanding away from home lately, taking an impressive ten points from a possible 12. The Lions have sealed wins at Swansea City, Bristol City and Derby County in recent weeks; can they cause an upset at the Cardiff City Stadium on Boxing Day?

Cardiff City vs Millwall Predictions

Cardiff City win: The Bluebirds have been hard to beat under Harris, with only Brentford getting the better of the them. Also, Cardiff recently came from three goals down to draw 3-3 with Leeds United at Elland Road.

Apart from last weekend’s surprise home defeat to Barnsley, Millwall have really impressed of late. Rowett’s Lions have secured three excellent away wins over the past month or so, which has put them in the play-off picture. The London side will no doubt be formidable opponents for Cardiff on Boxing Day.

The last few meetings have been very tight affairs, but I can see the home side nicking the points on Thursday. The Cardiff victory is priced at 13/10.

Millwall have netted in every game under Rowett so far. With that in mind, put a few quid on Cardiff to win and both teams to score at 15/4.
