One of the big racing features from Sandown on Saturday puts a focus on the Celebration Chase Odds.

This year’s renewal has only a small field of five declared runners, but it’s a good competitive lineup nonetheless.

The Celebration Chase at Sandown is contested at a distance of 2m and it is open to runners 5 years old and above.

We look at each of the runners heading to the start and pick out some Celebration Chase tips,

Nube Negra Celebration Chase Odds

A current joint-favourite at 6/4 in Celebration Chase odds is NUBE NEGRA* (odds recorded at 17:52 GMT on April 22nd 2022 at Bet365).

He opened the season with a victory in the Shloer Chase in November, showing that he does have those big runs in him.

The follow up from Nube Negra was a fourth-place finish in the Tingle Creek.

He was beaten by the opposing Greatness there.

Nube Negra has been lightly worked the past couple of seasons, but he is a capable sort when he puts it all together.

GREANTEEEN
6/4

Case to be made for Greaneteen

GREANETEEN was last seen at the Dublin Racing Festival where he was heavily beaten in the Dublin Chase at Leopardstown.

However, there were excuses for him on that day. He’s certainly not one to write off because of that blip.

Greanteen put in a commanding run to that last year’s renewal of the Celebration Chase.

In December last year, he delivered a smashing course and distance victory in the Tingle Creek.

It’s not often that Greaneteen puts in a substandard effort, and is the sort to bounce back.

As the current 6/4 joint-favourite he goes as our main selection in Celebration Chase tips* (odds recorded at 17:52 GMT on April 22nd 2022 at Bet365).

Sceau Royal brings solid claims

10-year old SCEAU ROYAL has some claims for this one after showing once again this season that he retains class and ability.

Sceau Royal is a 7/2 contender in Celebration Chase odds* (odds recorded at 17:52 GMT on April 22nd 2022 at Bet365).

There were a couple of wins for him earlier this season, but his recent form can be looked at in a positive light too.

On his penultimate run, Sceau Royal pushed the impressive Funambule Sivola close in the Game Spirit Chase, conceding 6lb to that rival.

The Melling Chase at Aintree looked a little too testing for him at 20f, so he goes down in trip and rates as a danger.

Rouge Vif looking for a spark

Although he is a smart chaser, things haven’t really panned out great for ROUGE VIF for a while now.

He has been away since January when it was reported that he had a health injury.

Without question, Rouge Vif has looked off this season for his new yard.

During this current break, Rouge Vif has received a wind op and he looks to have a lot on his plate from 20/1* (odds recorded at 17:52 GMT on April 22nd 2022 at Bet365).

It is probably going to have to be a major revival to see him get back in this.

Sky Pirate with a lot to do

The rank outsider in Celebration Chase betting 2022 is SKY PIRATE who languishes out at 33/1* (odds recorded at 17:52 GMT on April 22nd 2022 at Bet365).

He looked a lot happier, moved back to the 2m mark last season and ended the previous campaign with a win at the Festival.

Sky Pirate has put in some decent shifts in defeat.

Those efforts have looked credible more than progressive or exciting.

It’s hard to spot where in his form that Sky Pirate is going to compete up at the top level. He goes for the first time on Saturday.

Predictions & Tips for Celebration Chase Racing Odds

GREANETEEN’s effort in the Dublin Chase last time out can be excused. It was more of race conditions not being right than a poor run from him.

He clearly possesses a lot of ability with that C&D Tingle Creek win, and victory in last year’s renewal of this. He should be there and is our 6/4 Celebration Chase racing tip* (odds recorded at 17:52 GMT on April 22nd 2022 at Bet365).

Behind him, the one that piques the most interest is SCEAU ROYAL from 7/2* (odds recorded at 17:52 GMT on April 22nd 2022 at Bet365).

He was blowing at the end of the Melling Chase at Aintree. A shorter trip is likely to suit and he could improve on his third from last year’s race.

Of the rest of the runners, it’s easily NUBE NEGRA that gets on the shortlist as the others look to have too much to do at this grade.
