Celebrity Big Brother 2017 – The Runners and Riders

Eastender's Barry may be the star turn in Celebrity Big Brother 2017

Novelty Betting & Other Events Betting

It’s always a shame not to show off a new decorating scheme so, just days after the end of Big Brother, we now have Celebrity Big Brother filling the new-look BB house and our TV screens.

Contestants are the usual mix of quite well known, not so well known and ‘who is she and what is she in?’ but we shouldn’t hold that against people who have obviously fallen so far from the public gaze that they need to take part in a programme like this.

As if you need telling, I’m not a fan of reality TV. I still can’t grasp the concept that being a contestant or participant in one reality show makes you a celebrity entitled to star billing on another. Chad Johnson, Sam Thompson, Sandi Bogle, Marissa Jade, Brandi Glanville (love those lips!), Jordan Davies, Jemma Lucy – I’m talking about you.

You wouldn’t know Trisha Paytas unless you were desperate to watch something on YouTube at three o’clock in the morning and Amelia Lily’s claim to fame is that she once finished third in X Factor. Karthik Nagesan was one of the worst business hopefuls ever seen on ‘The Apprentice’ but, hey, he’s only being asked to sell himself on Big Brother.

To be honest, I’m a bit surprised that others are even subjecting themselves to the humiliation that will surely follow. I’m sure the imaginary friend of spiritualist Derek Acorah will have warned him against entering the BB house but maybe his recent UK tour didn’t go as well as the voices in his head predicted. Sarah Harding may not have been the most famous member of Girls Aloud but has carved out a career for herself in acting. Helen Lederer has had a few juicy comedy roles but maybe stints in Splash and Celebrity Masterchef has given the 62-year-old a taste for the bizarre.

Shaun Williamson is 5/1 favourite for Celebrity Big Brother 2017 with several bookmakers, including Paddy Power.

The Dublin-based firm just love long-running novelty contests like BB as it gives them plenty of time to work up a social media following and they like to invite plenty of excitement about their markets and their products. But they can back it all up with a very strong product platform, one of the best in-play services around and an extensive sports book.

There is a good welcome bonus available too of £30 worth of free bets to enjoy.

When you become a new customer of Paddy Power via online-betting.me.uk you automatically receive a free £30 bet but this is only activated when you, as a new customer, place a minimum stake of £10 with minimum odds of 1.50 (1/2). When that is done Paddy Power will give you 3 free bets of £10 each (3 x £10). This offer is only valid for new customers and the free bets will be valid for 30 days.

Any possible winnings will be displayed on the betting receipt. This will include the stake but because this is a free offer, the stake will not be returned, only the winnings. This offer can only be used on Paddy Power and only in their sportsbook; it cannot be used in any other part of the Paddy Power website.

Although Paddy Power accepts payment from Skrill/Moneybookers and Neteller they do not accept these methods of payment for this free bet offer. Terms and conditions apply, please see full details directly at Paddy Power.

Shaun Williamson will forever be ‘Barry’ from ‘EastEnders’ for many, even though he’s done plenty of stage work since leaving Walford. Perhaps the work has dried up a little because that’s the only reason I can think of that he’d risk his reputation and nice-guy image by appearing in BB but I’ve heard these showbiz agents can be very persuasive when the percentages are threatened.
