As the BBC drip feeds fans of Strictly Come Dancing with this year’s contingent of stars, Channel 5 will blitz the airwaves by revealing the line-up for Celebrity Big Brother 2018 in one night.
Not that it’s a big secret as bookmakers already have a market fully formed suggesting that the names that were only rumours a week ago have been confirmed to enter the Big Brother house. The most intriguing name among them is former porn star STORMY DANIELS. Real name Stephanie Clifford, she is currently involved in a lawsuit with Donald Trump over allegations he paid her hush money over an affair. Whatever the US President is alleged to have paid her, it probably wasn’t as much as she’ll be getting to appear in Celebrity Big Brother. Producers will be hoping that money buys them some world-shaking revelations but I wouldn’t bet on it. Ms Daniels is 8/1 with Coral to win Celebrity Big Brother.
Actress Kirstie Alley is another flying over from the States to take part. She’s now 67 but was a cast member in the second of the Star Trek movie franchise and is also well-known for her role in Cheers. The comedy about a bar in Boston was essential viewing in the Eighties and Nineties and Ms Alley’s character became the love interest of star Ted Danson after Shelley Long left. She’s a bit bigger than in her days as ‘Back-Seat Becky’ but has had three shows of her own since Cheers finally closed its doors for good and will be popular with older viewers. KIRSTIE ALLEY is a general 12/1 to win Celebrity Big Brother.
NATALIE NUNN is a regular on reality shows in the USA but not so well known in Britain, which is why she’s 20/1 with William Hill. There is the usual quota of soap stars, of course, head by Coronation Street’s RYAN THOMAS (3/1 with Coral) , who follows in the footsteps of brothers Adam and Scott by joining the realty TV circuit. ROXANNE PALLET, formerly of Emmerdale, also takes part and is a best 7/1.
GABBY ALLEN is also a best 7/1 but you’ll have to have a good memory to remember what the likes of Nick Leeson, Chloe Ayling and ‘Psychic’ Sally Morgan were famous for and former footballer Jermaine Pennant is probably only taking part to plug his new autobiography. But, let’s be honest, nobody would volunteer to appear on Celebrity Big Brother without having good reason. The show is set to take over our airwaves for the next month.
