Brentford FAVs in Championship Play Offs Betting

Final Standings: 3rd, 87pts

The Bees put in a blistering run of form to close out the season with, going twelve undbeaten.

That is why they are the 6/4 favourites to earn promotion to the top flight* (odds recorded at 04:06 GMT on May 15th, 2021 at Paddy Power).

Only champions Norwich finished the campaign with a higher goal difference in the Championship than Brentford.

Brentford won the second-highest amount of away games in the campaign as well. That could be hugely important as they start their semi-final away from home against Bournemouth.

The Bees closed out the regular season with a fantastic W6 D6 record.

They won four on the trot to close out, and they kept a clean sheet in six of their final eight regular-season fixtures.

Swansea

Final Standings: 4th, 80pts

There was a good solid season all-around for the Swans. One slight concern for them is that their form dropped away from mid-March.

Swansea won only three of their final eleven matches in the regular season.

But despite inconsistent form at the end of the regular season, the goals were flowing from Swansea.

The Welsh club scored exactly two goals in five of their last seven league games of the campaign.

Barnsley

Final Standings: 5th, 78 pts

The Tykes had an outstanding run of form since mid-February. At one point they went on a seven-match winning streak to really boost their promotion credential.

It was only three defeats for them since that mid-February burst of form. So they do confidently head to the play-offs.

A good 2-2 draw against Champions Norwich on the final day of action to guarantee they didn’t slip to sixth, will have given them a lift as well.

Barely have taken a clean sheet in five of their last seven league games.

Bournemouth

Final Standings: 6th, 77pts

It wasn’t a season of plain sailing for Bournemouth. At one point they looked like prime candidates to earn automatic promotion to the top flight. Then a run of inconstancy plagued them.

But a six-match winning streak throughout April put them back on the radar.

By the end of the season, Bournemouth were hanging on to playoff hopes. They lost their final three matches of the season.

Bournemouth v Brentford Championship Play Offs Betting

Bournemouth are in the position that none of the other play off teams wanted to be in, facing Brentford.

The Cherries are 7/4 to pick up the victory on Monday evening in the first leg of this semi-final tie* (odds record at 19:20 GMT on May 16th at Paddy Power).

Bournemouth lost their final three league games of the season. That run started with a home defeat against Brentford.

In none of those final three fixtures, did Bournemouth hit the back of the net.

So there are definite concerns there.

Their form on home turf at the Vitality became hit and miss as well, posting a W3 L3 record in their final six home games in that run.

Brentford won both league meetings with Bournemouth this season. Both of those were by a one-goal margin.

The Bees have lost one of their last six against the Cherries only (W2 D3 L1).

Brentford won their final four fixtures of the campaign, taking a clean sheet in three of those fixtures.

With a twelve-match undefeated streak of form behind them, they don’t look like slipping up on the south coast.

Brentford are undefeated in their last six away games, winning four of those. In Championship playoffs betting, they look the ones to beat.

Brentford are 6/4 for the win on Monday* (odds record at 19:20 GMT on May 16th at Paddy Power)

Brentford 6/4, Bournemouth 7/4, Draw 12/5

Barnsley v Swansea Championship Play Offs Betting

Barnsley will be relying on their strong form at Oakwell to give them a good footing in this semi-final match-up.

The Tykes went W6 D3 L1 in their final ten home games of the regular campaign. So it was pretty solid.

They battled to a draw against Norwich in their final game of the season. That was important as it kept them above Bournemouth and therefore avoided Brentford.

So Barnsley should take some confidence from their performance on the weekend.

Barnsley are 11/1 to win on Monday in Championship Play Offs betting* (odds record at 19:20 GMT on May 16th at Paddy Power).

Swansea struggled towards the end of the season, losing six of their final eleven fixtures of the campaign.

It was one win in their last five played, home and away. So there were some struggles there from the Welsh club.

Looking at their away form ahead of the first leg, Swansea went W2 D1 L3 in their final six road games, failing to score in any of those defeats.

Two of those losses were also at teams who finished the regular season in the top six with them. This is a tough road game.

There is a quote of 3/1 on the win for Swansea* (odds record at 19:20 GMT on May 16th at Paddy Power).
