Championship Tips & Odds – 10th November 2018

This weekend’s round of Championship action starts on Friday night with the big Steel City derby from Bramall Lane as Sheffield United v Sheffield Wednesday lights up the winter evening. There will be a cracking match from the Hawthorns on Saturday evening as well as Leeds pay a visit to West Brom, the Baggies having fallen out of form.

Here we take a look around some of the Saturday, November 10th, 3 pm kick offs for our Championship tips and predictions.

Derby v Aston Villa

Derby are looking easier and easier on the eye and they picked up a good, no sorry, a great home win over Birmingham last weekend. That leaves the Rams on a stretch of six games unbeaten in the league and with back to back home wins as well. They have come up with at least two goals in all of their home success this season. The Villains have been just about as unreliable as it gets out on the road this season. They haven’t won any of their last seven away games, losing their last three.

The Rams can pick off Aston Villa here for a good home win at even money odds* (betting odds taken on November 8th,2 018 at 4:47 pm).

Norwich v Millwall

The Canaries produced a fantastic display last weekend as they romped to a 4-0 away win at Sheffield Wednesday. That sent them temporarily to the top of the table before Leeds went and won on Sunday to ruin it for them. Still, that was the culmination of some great recent form by Norwich who are on a four-match winning streak at the moment. They have won four of their last five at Carrow Road in the Championship too. Can Millwall handle that? The Lions haven’t won on the road this season, with a shocking D2 L6 record, so probably not. Even though upsets happen in football, of course, this looks like a home banker all the way considering the Lions have only scored four goals on their travels this season.

Norwich look full of confidence at the moment and are well worth backing as a home banker at 4/5 odds* (betting odds taken on November 8th,2 018 at 4:47 pm).

Birmingham v Hull

The Blues had their long unbeaten streak of form snapped last weekend as they suffered a 3-1 loss at Derby. The Blues had been undefeated in eleven games and were on a four-match winning streak before being toppled by the Rams. So this is going to be about how the Blues pick themselves up and that’s going to be easier done on home soil. The Blues are on a three-match winning streak at St Andrews and haven’t lost there all season. Hull are second from bottom heading into the weekend but they defied the odds to pull out a win over West Brom last weekend. That is back to back 1-0 wins they have taken this season. Still, West Brom’s form has been dipping of late and the Blues still have big home form going for them.

We have to stick with the Blues extending their great home form at the moment against a low-scoring side. Home win all the way at 5/6 odds* (betting odds taken on November 8th,2 018 at 4:47 pm).

Middlesbrough v Wigan

We seem to be stuck on the home bankers this weekend and there could be more of the same coming for this one. Middlesbrough are on a three-match drawing sequence in the second tier at the moment after a 0-0 out at Stoke. They haven’t won any of their last four at the Riverside either in the league (D3 L1) so it hasn’t been clicking for them. They have only come up with the one goal in their last four league home games as well. Perhaps if they are facing any other side than Wigan this weekend, we would have thought about opposing them. However, Wigan’s dreadful W1 L7 record on their travels this season sums it all up.

Even though Boro have been struggling for results, we’ll back them to get a one-goal margin success at 12/5 odds* (betting odds taken on November 8th,2 018 at 4:47 pm).
