Watheer just edges favouritism

Watheer heads into action at Chelmsford on Tuesday following a relatively disappointing sixth-place finish from a 9/1 mark. That was a run at Chelmsford over 7f just last month. It has now been a long time since he picked up a victory and that is reflected in the weights which are in his favour.

Indian Affair
4/1

Betfred

This is quite the unfamiliar distance for him as well so punters will have plenty of viability in opposing him at 11/4*(betting odds taken from Betfred on February 10th, 2020 at 23:15).

Krazy Paving threatens with C&D win

Crazy Paving got himself a win just earlier this month at course and distance. That pulls him into some big claims for a repat. That was a 7/1 win that he took at Chelmsford albeit by a head over Vincenzo Coccotti. There was really little indication that that success was coming, however.

In his three races following his return in late November he was 11th, 12th and then 10th in three wins at 6f 20y. He goes as a 3/1 option for Tuesday*(betting odds taken from Betfred on February 10th, 2020 at 23:15)

Poppy May the pick of the bunch?

There is another notable course and distance winner heading to the start in this race. That is Poppy May, who only ran 11 days ago. In that one, she collected a fourth-place finish over 6f at Newcastle in a field of 14.

It was a tight race, however, as she only finished half of a length back of the victor on the day. So that was a gutsy run and may have enough to build on that to make up for a very poor 9th of 10 on her last course and distance effort on January 11th.

Indian Affair has claims with experience

It was a second-place finish that Indian Affair collected on his last run. The 10-year-old, who brings some big experience to the table in this race, has in total, won 10 races from 6f to 7f. Seven of those have been on the all-weather as well.

He was only edged out by half a length at 14/1 at course and distance earlier this month. He lines up around the same mark for this Chelmsford contest as Poppy May at 4/1*(betting odds taken from Betfred on February 10th, 2020 at 23:15).

The rest of the runners

Alba Del Sole was a fifth-place finisher at Wolverhampton last month in a field of eleven. She has since moved stables and will this will be her first run since the change. Form up until now, hasn’t been there to suggest a win is coming.

Filly Rebecke has had seven starts in her career, but the four-year-old has only managed to place once. She was last out at Chelmsford in January when she was last. Wild Flower with 9th of 11 on her last run at C&D in early February.

Caso Do Lago’s last run was Chelmsford in January going over 7f and was 5th of 9 from a 20/1 mark. 10 year old Ask The Guru has winning experience between 5f and 6f. But the last of those wins was a couple of years ago. Was fourth of nine runners at C&D last month.

Predictions & Tips

Poppy May has been taking some action from punters in this one. But her near-miss in her last run was in class 7. In the race before that, she was in class six action and was third and there has been no success for her anywhere since landing a C&D in March last year.

Indian Affair just gets the nod from the same mark as Poppy May. He put things together well over course and distance in his last run where he was only edged out by Englishman. Overall this is a really evenly matched field and that bit of experience could pay off.
