Chelsea v West Brom Betting Tips – Premier League 12th February 8.00pm

This will be another big test for Chelsea as they look to avoid three straight league defeats. All does not seem to well at Stamford Bridge at the moment and Antonio Conte looks to be hanging on to his job by his fingernails. Will they relieve some tension with a home win against bottom side West Brom? The Baggies have lost their last two games and last weekend’s defeat at the Hawthorns against Southampton was a bit of a hammer blow for them overall. They desperately need points but don’t have form at the Bridge.

Chelsea News and Form

The Blues have been going through a tough time at the moment and they have lost their last two Premier League games now and both were pretty epic collapses as well. After a harrowing 3-0 loss against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge, the Blues just totally fell apart in a 4-1 loss at Watford last Monday after Tiemoue Bakayoko had gotten himself sent off in the first half of the match. So Chelsea, across all competitions have gone just W2 D4 L3 in their last nine games, which isn’t good by their usual high standards. Their defence has been all over the place lately with only one clean sheet in their last four now in all competitions, so immediately it is worth looking at both teams to score at Ladbrokes for odds of 3/4* (Betting Odds taken on February 7th, 2018 at 6:50 p.m.). Chelsea’s home form has been pretty solid for most of the season and their blowout against Bournemouth there recently saw them end an eight-match unbeaten streak of home form that they were on (W7 D1). But they have gone winless in their last two there now (D1 L1), failing to score in those two as well. So they have been strangely lapsing at the back lately and their offence isn’t going well and Eden Hazard, who got their consolation against Watford, as their shortest priced goalscorer option at even money* (Betting Odds taken on February 7th, 2018 at 6:50 p.m.)

West Brom News and Form

West Brom are in heaps of trouble now after losing at home against Southampton last weekend in the Premier League. That was a blow against a side who were also under relegation pressure. That is back to back defeats for West Brom in the Premier League now and they have collected only one win in their last twenty-four league games so they are looking a bit desperate right now. They can’t even look to away form for any solace as well because they are winless in six (D2 L4) away from the Hawthorns in the top flight and they have gone without a clean sheet in any of their last four on the road. That’s a twelve match witness streak of form that they are on now away from home in the Premier League overall and they have managed just seven league goals away from the Hawthorns all season. West Brom have conceded at an average of 1.5 goals per game as well. The great revival that they hoped would happen under Alan Pardew simply has not materialised. They have conceded 68% of their goal this season in the second half of matches, so a Draw/Chelsea half time/ full-time wage at Ladbrokes for 14/5 odds* (Betting Odds taken on February 7th, 2018 at 6:50 p.m.) is a decent proposition. They are catching Chelsea out of form at the moment, but their own doesn’t look strong enough to get them a much needed three points.

Chelsea v West Brom Head to Head

There was a big 4-0 win for the Blues out at the Hawthorns earlier this season and that leaves them riding a three-match winning streak against West Brom in the Premier League now. Each of those three wins for Chelsea were with a clean sheet too. Chelsea are undefeated in their last five games against West Brom in the top flight now (W4 D1) and they are unbeaten at the Bridge against the Baggies since a 1-0 League Cup defeat way back in 1984. Chelsea have scored exactly two goals in three of their last four home games against the Baggies.

Chelsea v West Brom Predictions

Chelsea to win: The Blues have looked totally devoid of confidence and a game plan lately. But for the first time in a while, they have had an entire week off and that could see them come back refreshed enough to get a win over a West Brom side who have been fighting but floundering still at the same time.
