There has been more Premier League managerial changes with Sam Allardyce having told Crystal Palace that he wants to leave the club. After the former England manager had arrived at Selhurst Park securing the top flight status of the Eagles, Big Sam has walked away from the club.

The reports are that he wanted some assurances from the club before he really committed his future to the Eagles, despite signing a two and a half year contract with them when he took over from Alan Pardew back on December 23rd. The issue appears to have been over transfers, with the club not giving him assurances of having the ability to strengthen the squad in the areas in which he thought was necessary.

It was only recently that Allardyce was saying how much he had enjoyed his five months with the Selhurst Park club, in which he guided them to away wins over Chelsea and Liverpool, as well as securing a home success against Arsenal. Those were massively important survival points for them and his stint had given him a chance to get over his short-lived stint as England manager.

There is a precedent for this as Tony Pulis walked away from Palace in 2014 after keeping them in the top flight. He wasn’t given the assurances he wanted in the transfer markets. So the next Crystal Palace manager betting market is up and running and Wales boss Chris Coleman and former Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri are the early favourites to be next in the Selhurst Park hot seat.

Coleman has ties with the club, having played for them for four years back in the 1990’s, but Ranieri, of course, brings Premier League title-winning experience to the table. They are the clear early front-runners for the job, and then the market drifts heavily out to David Moyes at 9/1 and Nigel Pearson, whose name has been touted around in the next Sunderland manager betting market. Roberto Mancini and Roy Hodgson are the outside punts at 16/1 and 25/1 respectively.

Ladbrokes are offering a quote of 3/1 on Allardyce heading back to Sunderland to take over from David Moyes.
