Colorado Rapids v Montreal Impact Betting Tips – MLS, 4th August 02.00am

Colorado Rapids welcome Montreal Impact to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park at the weekend. Colorado sit rock bottom of the Western Conference having lost over half of their matches so far. Meanwhile, Montreal are sixth in the Eastern Conference going into this weekend’s clash in Colorado. Can the Rapids seal a much-needed victory, or will Montreal win on the road for the first time since May?

Colorado Rapids News and Form – More misery for Casey’s side?

Colorado Rapids have had a miserable campaign thus far, picking up just five league wins. Only FC Cincinnati have accumulated fewer points in Major League Soccer this season, as Colorado have just 20 points to their name.

Anthony Hudson was sacked in May, with Conor Casey taking over on an interim basis. To be fair, the Rapids have improved under the 38-year-old, who racked up over 100 appearances for the club during his playing days. Colorado have picked up five wins from their last 11, but they still sit bottom of the table.

The club go into this one having lost three and drawn one of their past four. Last time out, Colorado were beaten 3-1 by San Jose Earthquakes. Meanwhile, they have lost their last two home games, with New England Revolution and New York City both winning 2-1 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

Victory this weekend could lift the Rapids off the bottom. However, getting three points will not be an easy task.

Montreal Impact News and Form – Rare away victory for Garde’s troops?

Having played 23 games so far, Montreal Impact find themselves in seventh position in the Eastern conference, winning ten, drawing three and losing 11. However, they are in an incredibly close league, with just six points separating first to eighth place.

Impact stopped a run of four successive defeats with a thumping 4-0 win over Philadelphia Union in their last outing. Remi Garde’s side ran riot at Saputo Stadium, with a brace each from Lassi Lappalainen and Orji Okwonkwo doing the business. Since drawing 0-0 with New England back in mid-May, Montreal have won four and lost six of their last ten league outings.

Garde’s boys have struggled on the road of late, taking zero points from the last 12 on offer. Since claiming back-to-back wins at New England and New York Red Bulls, Montreal have lost at Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Atlanta United and Columbus Crew.

Having lost four in a row away from home, Impact will be gunning for all three points from this weekend’s matchup against the Western Conference’s bottom club.

Colorado Rapids v Montreal Impact Predictions

Montreal Impact win: Garde’s men have been woeful on their travels recently, but Colorado have taken just one point from their last four MLS fixtures. Despite their poor form, the bookies have the hosts as their slight favourites in this one. However, I think there’s better value in bet365’s 2/1 for a Montreal win. Young Orji Okwonkwo netted twice in Impact’s 4-0 victory over Philadelphia last time out, and I like the look of 8/1 for the Nigerian to open the scoring at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park the weekend.
