Crystal Palace News and Form

Last thing that you need when you are trying to get away from the relegation zone is the loss of your best player. But that is what Palace have to deal with after Wilfried Zaha got sent off on Wednesday night in a draw against Southampton. But Palace got a point, and it snapped back-to-back defeats that they had suffered in the league. Overall in the bigger picture, Crystal Palace have only managed one win in their last six games.

At Selhurst Park, this season Crystal Palace hold a W2 D3 L6 record. In that sequence of games, they have only come up with the six goals in total all season. But one thing that they have had going for them is a pretty solid defence. They have only conceded an average of a goal per game at home this season. Just 18% of Crystal Palace’s home games this season have gone over 2.5 goals.

The Eagles have failed to win any of their last three home games, and have actually lost the last two at Selhurst Park by a one-goal margin against Chelsea and Watford. There has been three clean sheets for Crystal Palace at home in the top flight this term. Four of their six home defeats have been by the one-goal margin only.

Palace’s half-time home record is pretty good, because only once at Selhurst Park have they been behind at the midway point of a fixture. Crystal Palace have conceded 10 of their 11 home goals this season in the second half of matches. Only bottom side Huddersfield have a worse home record than Crystal Palace currently do. Crystal Palace are the fourth lowest scoring side in the Premier League at the moment.

Fulham News and Form

Every now and again, everyone produces a performance that they can be proud of. Fulham did just that in the second half of their game at home against Brighton on Tuesday night. The Cottagers, who are still stuck in the relegation zone, were trailing 2-0 at half-time in the fixture. Another defeat looked on the cards. But the Cottagers came out firing and put four second-half goals on the board to run up three points.

Aleksandar Mitrovic got himself a brace in the fixture. That was some dramatic turnaround, and while it didn’t get them out of the drop zone, it at least keeps their slim chances of survival alive. But they really need to do is get a bit of a winning streak going. The Cottagers do have some home form behind them now, but are still struggling horribly on the road.

Fulham go into this one having lost back-to-back away games against Arsenal and Burnley. From their last nine Premier League away games, Fulham have produced one single point. That’s it. Across the course of the season they have come up with eight away goals, and they have scored in back-to-back away games going into this one at Selhurst Park.

So that is something of a positive for them. 67% of Fulham’s away fixtures in the EPL this season have ended up over 2.5 goals. Only once this season have they managed to produce an away clean sheet. In eight of their 12 road fixtures in the EPL, Fulham have been losing at half-time. Overall from their 12 away games this season, the London club have picked up a total of just two points.
