Last thing that you need when you are trying to get away from the relegation zone is the loss of your best player. But that is what Palace have to deal with after Wilfried Zaha got sent off on Wednesday night in a draw against Southampton. But Palace got a point, and it snapped back-to-back defeats that they had suffered in the league. Overall in the bigger picture, Crystal Palace have only managed one win in their last six games.

Every now and again, everyone produces a performance that they can be proud of. Fulham did just that in the second half of their game at home against Brighton on Tuesday night. The Cottagers, who are still stuck in the relegation zone, were trailing 2-0 at half-time in the fixture. Another defeat looked on the cards. But the Cottagers came out firing and put four second-half goals on the board to run up three points.

Aleksandar Mitrovic got himself a brace in the fixture. That was some dramatic turnaround, and while it didn’t get them out of the drop zone, it at least keeps their slim chances of survival alive. But they really need to do is get a bit of a winning streak going. The Cottagers do have some home form behind them now, but are still struggling horribly on the road.
