This is a third-round match from the third quarter of the PDC Darts World Championship draw. It’s quite a big one as well as two-seeded players clash. The winner will go through to meet the winner of the match between 7th seed Peter Wright and Japan’s Seigo Asada. Who gets through?

Chizzy handles opener well

There was a challenging match for 10th seed Dave Chisnall in the second round. That was his opening game of the tournament because of being seeded. He was up against Vincent van der Voort who had already had a comfortable opening match in the first round. So the Dutchman had been scoring well and had his eye-in. But Chizzy handled himself really well against the Dutchman, putting a 3-1 set victory on the board. Chisnall looks a decent dark horse in the field and he has made the quarter-finals in two of his last three PDC World Championship appearances. Can he take a step closer to another?

Head to head

There is history between these two. It’s interesting history as well. Chisnall is only W2 L5 against the Dutchman. Two of those were ranked Majors as well. But it was Chizzy who took a win in the most recent meeting back at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy this year.

Can The Black Cobra take a bite out of Chizzy?

Young Dutch player Jeffrey De Zwaan has already gone further in the PDC Darts World Championship than he has done so before. This is actually only his third appearance in the main draw. So this is a big moment for the 23rd seed. In his opening match of the tournament, he was up against America’s Darin Young. The Black Cobra had to hold his nerve a bit as well as he was taken to a deciding set by the unseeded player. But he’s through and now as the underdog, has nothing to lose up against one of the top ten seeds.

Dave Chisnall v Jeffrey de Zwaan Prediction and tip

Chisnall has put some decent form together this season and has made the semis of the World Series of Darts Finals and the quarters of the Grand Slam of Darts since the start of November. He can handle the challenge of the youngster, who does have a head to head lead over him. It may be tight. Chizzy -1.5 Handicap at 5/6*( betting odds taken from Dedcember 22nd, 2019 at 10:14 pm)
