Denmark v Republic of Ireland Betting Tips – UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifier, 7th June 19.45pm

Age Hareide’s Denmark and Mick McCarthy’s Republic of Ireland square off at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen for a vital UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier on Friday night. Ireland, who sit top of Group D, will be hoping to make it nine points out of nine. However, the Boys in Green head to the Danish capital as the big 6/1 underdogs. Can the Irish cause an upset in Denmark on Friday night, or will the hosts be too strong?

Denmark News and Form – Danes to take maximum points on home turf?

Denmark kicked off their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign with an entertaining 3-3 draw with Switzerland in Basel. The Danes were 3-0 down with just six minutes to go, but an extraordinary comeback saw them pick up an unlikely point, with Mathias Jorgensen, Christian Gytkjaer and Henrik Dalsgaard getting the late goals.

Denmark have been in pretty good form of late, as Hareide’s side go into this one unbeaten in seven (three wins, four draws). However, since beating Wales 2-1 at the Cardiff City Stadium in a UEFA Nations League matchup back in November, the Red-Whites have drawn each of their last three.

Denmark had an excellent Nations League campaign, winning two and drawing two to finish top of League A, Group 4 ahead of Wales and Republic of Ireland. The Danes beat the Welsh home and away and drew both games with Ireland (0-0). First place in the group saw Denmark promoted to League A.

After coming back to claim a handy draw in Switzerland in their opening game of Euro 2020 qualifying, Denmark will be looking for all three points in Copenhagen on Friday.

Republic of Ireland News and Form – Irish to drop first points under McCarthy?

Mick McCarthy has made a winning start to life back in the Republic of Ireland dugout, as the Irish have beaten Gibraltar and Georgia (both 1-0) since his arrival. Having picked up six points from a possible six, the Boys in Green sit top of Euro 2020 qualifying Group D.

In their last outing back in March, a stunning free-kick from Aston Villa’s Conor Hourihane gave the Irish a crucial 1-0 win over Georgians at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. It was far from a pretty performance, but Ireland just did enough to get the job done on home turf.

The Republic have not been an easy team to beat of late, losing only one of their previous seven fixtures. However, the two Euro 2020 qualifying wins under McCarthy are their only victories over the past year. Meanwhile, the Irish have won just three matches since October 2017.

Ireland have got their qualifying campaign off to a stunning start but getting anything from Friday’s trip to Copenhagen will be a tall order. Anything they do pick up in Denmark will be a bonus. The Boys in Green are the big 6/1 underdogs with the bookies.

Denmark v Republic of Ireland Predictions

Denmark win: Apart from Denmark’s demolition job in Dublin in a World Cup play-off two years ago, the last few meetings between these two nations have been very close affairs, with three of the last four ending in 0-0 draws. This one has the potential to be another close matchup, but I fancy the home side to nick it. Check out the top odds of 8/1 for the Danes to run out 2-1 winners on Friday. Also, put a few quid on Denmark to win and both teams to score at 4/1.
