Derby County started their new era under Phillip Cocu with three points on the opening weekend. Tom Lawrence was the hero for the Rams, netting twice in the 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium. The Terriers pulled one back after 30 minutes, but County held on for a big three points in Yorkshire.
Derby reached the play-off final last term, eventually losing out to Aston Villa at Wembley Stadium, and the club will be aiming to finish in the top six under Cocu this season. Ahead of this weekend’s home clash with the Swans, the Rams are priced at 7/4 to finish in the play-off positions. Meanwhile, you can get them at 5/1 for promotion.
