Derby County News and Form – Six home victories on the bounce for Cocu’s Rams?

Phillip Cocu has had a mixed bag of results since arriving in the Midlands, with Derby County winning only six times in the Championship. The Rams are the only side in the second tier to have won six, drawn six and lost six so far.

Derby have one of the worst away records in the Championship, taking just six points from a possible 27. County crashed to a fourth away defeat in a row in midweek, this time losing 3-0 at Fulham.

Things have been very different at Pride Park, though, as only Preston North End, Fulham, Cardiff City and West Bromwich Albion have taken more home points so far. Derby have won five, drawn three and lost one. Since being held to a 1-1 draw by Cardiff back in September, the Midlands side have taken 15 points from a possible 15 on home soil.

Queens Park Rangers News and Form – More misery for out-of-sorts Rangers?

Queens Park Rangers blew the chance to go top of the Championship table when they were beaten by rivals Brentford just a month ago. However, one point from four games since then has seen the Londoners slip down to 16th.

QPR were embarrassed by in-form Nottingham Forest at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium in midweek. Goals from Tobias Figueiredo, Lewis Grabban, Joao Carvalho and Alfa Semedo gave Sabri Lamouchi’s men a resounding 4-0 win. Lee Wallace was sent off five minutes into the second half, with Forest’s last three goals coming in the last nine minutes of the game.

QPR have blown hot and cold away from home this term, winning four and losing four of eight. Mark Warburton’s have lost three of their previous four on their travels. Can the Hoops get back to winning ways this Saturday?

Derby County vs Queens Park Rangers Predictions

Derby County win: 18 of Derby’s 24 points have come at Pride Park this season. The Rams have claimed consecutive home victories over Birmingham City, Luton Town, Wigan Athletic, Middlesbrough and Preston – will Queens Park Rangers be added to that list on Saturday?

QPR made a very good start to their season, but they have rapidly gone downhill over the past month or so. Rangers would love to win at Pride Park this weekend, but we fancy Derby to make it six home wins on the bounce. The hosts are available at 11/8.

In Derby’s last five wins at home, the Rams have opened the scoring in each of those. Meanwhile, they have kept clean sheets in the last four. County are priced at 9/1 to win 1-0 this Saturday.
