James Doyle’s mount is heading towards the veteran stage but these sprinters can maintain a higher standard for far longer than their middle-distance counterparts.
Chris Wall’s charge won at Doncaster off a 5lb higher mark in 2018 and has only run six times since so has hardly been over-raced. He can be backed at 4/1 with Bet365.
But ADMIRALTY could be even more interesting at 7/1 with Betvictor.
He looked in need of the run at Newcastle four weeks ago and performed accordingly. The handicapper has eased him a further 2lb and Roger Fell’s six-year-old is starting to look well treated on his runs in a Heritage Handicap at Ascot last season and his sixth in the Ayr Silver Cup in September.
Flavius Titus was in good form around this time last year but it’s a while since he put his best foot forward which makes a best 18/1 a risky proposition.
