Doncaster Rovers News and Form – Easy home win for Donny?

Doncaster Rovers missed out on promotion to the EFL Championship in the League One play-offs last term. The Yorkshire club have had an indifferent start to this season, winning only six of their 14 games to sit in mid-table. Overall, Donny have accumulated 23 points from a possible 42.

Doncaster have been solid at home this season, winning five, drawing two and losing two of their nine home matches in League One. Only Wycombe Wanderers, Coventry City (both 23) and Fleetwood Town (19) have picked up more home points than Rovers (17) thus far. However, Moore’s men have won only one of their last four league and cup matches at the Keepmoat.

Doncaster have been in patchy form in recent months, winning just two of their previous nine across all competitions. After drawing their last two, can Donny get back to winning ways on Tuesday?

  • Wimbledon have lost nine of ten away league and cup matches this term
  • Doncaster are 13 points ahead of the Dons in the current League One table

Wimbledon News and Form – Can the Dons secure a rare away victory?

Wimbledon survived by the skin of their teeth last season, and they could need another great escape this time around. At the time of writing, Glyn Hodges’ troops hover just above the drop zone in 20th place, level on points with rivals MK Dons but eight clear of struggling Southend United.

Wimbledon have lost 89% of their away matches in League One so far. The club based in Kingston upon Thames in London have the second worst away record in the division, winning one and losing eight of nine. Before picking up a big 4-1 victory at Southend in October, the Dons had lost each of their opening six away league fixtures.

Survival will be the main aim for Wimbledon this season, and momentum is key. Victory in the FA Cup in midweek could kick-start a much-needed revival in League One.

Doncaster Rovers vs Wimbledon Predictions

Doncaster Rovers win: Going by Wimbledon’s atrocious away form, this has comfortable home win written all over it. However, league form often goes out of the window when it comes to cup football, and the Dons will be hoping to cause somewhat of an FA Cup upset on Tuesday.

Having said that, Doncaster are a very hard nut to crack on home turf, and Rovers will be looking for another victory at the Keepmoat in midweek. This should be a routine win for the hosts, so back Moore’s boys to win -1 at 7/4.

Donny’s Kieran Sadlier has been in fine form this season. The midfielder has netted seven league and cup goals, with five of those coming in his last ten appearances. Have a punt on Sadlier to score first in this one at 11/2.
