Cap Du Nord the 7/2 favourite in Sky Bet Handicap Chase odds

The race favourite for this contest is CAP DU NORD at 7/2* (betting odds recorded at 17:27 GMT on Friday, 29th January 2021).

On his penultimate run, he picked up a win, so his form looks strong at the moment.

That success was in a big field at Newbury when he saw off Canelo who he re opposes here.

Cap Du Nord, then he followed that up with another bold run.

His latest effort saw Cap Du Nord earn a good second place behind Royale Pagaille at Kempton and was by no means disgraced in defeat there against a progressive one.

It has been a big season so far for Cap Du Nord who has really taken some good steps forward.

He is 3lb in in the weights and looks to have a big chance in this one.

Can Canelo turn the tables on Cap Du Nord?

CANELO could do nothing about Cap Du Nord when they met at Newbury earlier this season.

But either side of that second-place finish, Canelo has scored.

He responded to that defeat by winning the Rowland Meyrick at Wetherby back on Boxing Day and based on that, he should be a big player again.

Canelo is pretty much in the same profile mould as Cap Du Nord and can’t be dismissed here. He should make the field work hard.

In this super-competitive contest, Canelo is a 6/1 shot for the win in Sky Bet Handicap Chase betting* (betting odds recorded at 17:27 GMT on Friday, 29th January 2021).

Musical Slave the pick of the bunch?

While there is going to be a lot of focus on Alan King’s Canelo, Phillip Hobbs’ MUSICAL SLAVE who looks an even bigger threat.

Over the fences, the lightly raced eight-year showed a lot of promise in taking a fifth-place finish on his reappearance.

That was in a Newbury handicap and shaped as if he had a lot more to offer. That was on a 2m 4f trip which just didn’t look like it suited him at all.

So the step up in trip is likely going to be a big positive factor for him in this one at.

So Musical Slave is definitely an interesting entrant in this fixture at 4/1* (betting odds recorded at 17:27 GMT on Friday, 29th January 2021).

One For the Team has plenty to foffer

This is the first time in a handicap in chasing for ONE FOR THE TEAM, but he looks as if he could have something out him.

On his most recent run, he stepped up to Grade 1 at Kempton and took a fifth-place finish there.

Also this season he battled to a good runner up spot at Grade 2 in November.

So he has the quality to compete and the drop in grade means that he could be well in the mix.

One For The Team is well worth considerations at 5/1 in Sky Bet Handicap Chase betting* (betting odds recorded at 17:27 GMT on Friday, 29th January 2021).

Aye Right looking sharper

There was a god run for AYE RIGHT last time out as he went in a jumpers’ bumper. That was all to sharpen him up.

It followed what was a brilliant second-place finish in the Ladbrokes Trophy in November at Newbury and we wonder if he is going to bring even more to the table in this run.

There is a current quote of 15/2 on him for this fixture* (betting odds recorded at 17:27 GMT on Friday, 29th January 2021).

Aye Right looks to be making strides in this sphere, but he is still looking to get off the mark in chasing.

But there are positives there in terms of place claims as this would be an impressive setting for him to go all the way and get off the mark.

Rest of the runners

MISTER MALARKY is at the top of the weights after a win in a 3m Ascot Listed handicap in December.

That was on a change of tactics, going bolder. A big threat if he can follow that up with the same kind of effort.

GIVE ME A COPPER earned a second-place finish over course and distance on his reappearance run.

That was after 11 months off and it was only a narrow miss. This is a much tougher contest for him, however.

YORKHILL heads to Doncaster on the back of a victory. He was in fine jumping form to win at Newcastle and the veteran looks to be tapping into a new lease of life for his new connections.

TAKINGRISKS is a former Scottish Grand National winner. He battled well to take a fourth-place finish in Rehearsal at Newclsate a couple of months ago. Detbale whether he has enough pace in him to beat this field.

ROCKY’S TREASURE is another that enters on the back of success. He is a former course and distance winner (Grade 2).

That latest victory he picked up was here at Doncaster. So he enjoys a trip here but this is a race with a lot more quality in it.

BOLDMERE won at course and distance last term. It has been fourth places finishes for him in his last three races.

He was behind Rocky’s Treasure on his last trip but had shaped fairly well in the contest. This may be a little strong for him.

THE BUTCHER SAID has won two of five runs this season. On his most recent effort, he was sixth in a Nbuewry handicap in November. He comes from a yard that’s in form but may have too much to do here.

GUITAR PETE fell on his latest trip which was at Kempton. That was after a promising reappearance in a Wetherby Handicap in which he had taken fourth. Guitar Pete still retains plenty of ability but this is a big ask.

Predictions & Tips for Sky Bet Handicap Chase Racing Odds

There are a lot of claims flying around in this one without question. At the head of the market CAP DU NORD has to go down as a serious contender.

He is at 7/2 in the fixture and looks to be bombing on now in chasing. With a 3lb claimer on his back, will be expected to get very close* (betting odds recorded at 17:27 GMT on Friday, 29th January 2021).

We are curious about the chances of CANELO getting in the frame as he has had a good season, winning two of his last three.

He has been beaten by Cap Du Nord at Newbury, but from 6/1 Canelo appeals to get close to turning the tables* (betting odds recorded at 17:27 GMT on Friday, 29th January 2021).

AYE RIGHT will be our slightly longer odds selection in the Sky Bet Handipa Chase betting.

A recent sharpener in a bumper means that the needs to be respected.

His chasing is coming along very well and has a chance to make his presence felt from 8/1* (betting odds recorded at 17:27 GMT on Friday, 29th January 2021).
