Dubai Desert Classic Betting Favourite – Rory McIlroy

There are extra places to be taken on Dubai Desert Golf betting odds at Boylesports. That could bring RORY MCILROY further into the picture at 8/1* (odds recorded at 7:51 GMT on January 26th, 2022 at 888Sport).

McIlroy has a good track record at Majlis Course as this is the venue of his first professional win, and he won there six years later as well. His last appearance in the tournament was in 2018, and he rattled the crossbar on that occasion.

So there are reasons to have a good look at the current golf betting favourite Rory McIlroy. There was a decent effort from him last week at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship too.

Main Contenders Dubai Desert Classic Betting

VIKTOR HOVLAND finished 2021 in some hot form with back to back wins at the World Wide Technology championship at Mayakoba and then the Hero World Challenge.

He played the Sentry Tournament of Champions earlier this month and a poor third round let him down.

Other than that, he could be a contender after striking a fourth-place finish at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship last week.

COLLIN MORIKAWA skips the Farmers on the PGA this week to put in an appearance in Dubai.

He was swinging his way around the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship last week without much luck. He’s better than that, and the course may fit him a bit better for this one.

A player that went really well last week at the Yas Links at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship was TYRRELL HATTON.

He took a top ten finish which was a great recovery after a bit of a howler in the second round. There could be something in this for him this week if he can build on last week’s performance.

Dubai Desert Classic Outsiders

BERND WEISBERGER could make a decent fist of this one. He recovered well last year at the event from a slow start, to bank a top ten finish at the tournament.

The course fits his game and he has proven that before here with three top-ten finishes at the Majlis Course.

Also piquing some interest as a long shot is DEAN BURMESTER who had a career breakthrough year in 2021. Can he kick on?

Burmester took at European PGA title in Tenerife last year and he can be pleased with his efforts at Yas Links last week, finishing strongly.

South Africans have a fair track record at the Dubai Desert Classic.

THOMAS PIETERS was a Top 30 finisher at last year’s Dubai Desert Classic with some patchy stuff. He’s hard to ignore right now, having won two of his last three tournaments.

The Belgian is just thriving at the moment and while he hasn’t tamed this course by any stretch of the imagination, he brings some confident form to the table.

Dubai Desert Classic Prediction

At the front end of the market, there is RORY MCILROY who is looking for his third Dubai Desert Classic title. But the slight preference is going to be for TYRRELL HATTON from 18/1* (odds recorded at 7:51 GMT on January 26th, 2022 at 888Sport).

As he did last year, he went well in Abu Dhabi and last year he followed up with a T25 finish at the Dubai Desert Classic. There could be something in this for him in this one if he can bank on a solid start.

The longer play is for Bernd Weisberger at 30/1 in golf betting odds* (odds recorded at 7:51 GMT on January 26th, 2022 at 888Sport).

He has admitted himself that this is one of the best courses for his game and has had three good top ten finishes here before.
