EFL Championship Matchday 18: Best Betting Football Tips

Cardiff City vs. Swansea City: EFL Betting Tip

Fierce rivals Cardiff and Swansea lock horns at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday. The Bluebirds are in a purple patch of form at present, winning each of their last four. However, the Swans sit four points above their rivals in the current Championship standings.

Since a shocking performance in a 1-0 loss to Coventry City at St Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium last month, Cardiff have responded expertly well by winning four out of four. In recent weeks, the Bluebirds have beaten Luton Town, Huddersfield Town, Watford and Stoke City.

Swansea are also in decent nick, as they have lost only one of their past five. Since a 2-1 loss at Middlesbrough, the Swans have beaten Luton and drawn with Bournemouth (both at the Liberty Stadium). Away from home, though, Swansea have won just one of their previous six.

Cardiff have shown a vast improvement of late, looking much more like the team who finished fifth and reached the Championship play-offs last term. South Wales derbies are usually tight affairs, so back the Bluebirds to win by one goal on Saturday at 11/4.

Blackburn Rovers vs. Norwich City: Best Football League Betting Predictions

Blackburn and Norwich square off in an intriguing fixture at Ewood Park on Saturday. After their first defeat in eight last time out, can Rovers hit back with a positive result on home turf? The Canaries, who lead the division, will be looking for a third win in a row.

Before Wednesday’s narrow defeat at Ashton Gate, Blackburn had gone seven games unbeaten, winning four and drawing three. They have won their last three at Ewood Park, seeing off Queens Park Rangers, Barnsley and Millwall.

After a 3-1 loss to Luton at Kenilworth Road, Norwich have bounced back with back-to-back home wins. Having sealed a 2-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, Daniel Farke’s side then beat Nottingham Forest by the same scoreline at Carrow Road last time out.

No side in the Championship have picked up more away points than Norwich up until now. City have won five, lost two and drawn one of eight to take 16 points on the road. Norwich are priced at 49/20 to win this one.

Bournemouth vs. Huddersfield Town: EFL Betting Odds & Predictions

Jason Tindall’s Bournemouth have taken just five points from the last 12 on offer. This weekend, the Cherries welcome Huddersfield Town to the Vitality Stadium. The Terriers head to the coast having won three of their last four. Who will prevail in this one?

Bournemouth are not planning on staying in the Championship for long after relegation from the Premier League last term. Tindall’s troops have started well, collecting an impressive 31 points so far. The Cherries sit second, three points off top spot ahead of this round of fixtures.

Carlos Corberan has made a steady start to life at the John Smith’s Stadium, with Town in mid-table with 23 points to their name. Huddersfield have won three of their last four, with all three victories coming on their own patch. However, they have not won on the road since October.

Huddersfield are in good shape ahead of this one, but Bournemouth will be targeting a comfortable home victory. Check out Unibet’s solid odds of 17/10 for the home team to win -1.

Nottingham Forest vs. Brentford: Best EFL Betting Tips on Matchday 18

After one draw and five defeats in six games, Nottingham Forest could do with a win this weekend. Unfortunately for the Reds, they are coming up against a Brentford side who are undefeated in ten Championship matches. Will Thomas Frank’s men pile more misery on Chris Hughton & Co. this weekend?

Hughton made a positive start to life at the City Ground, but Nottingham Forest have taken just one point from the last 18 on offer. As a result, the Reds have slipped down to 21st, now just one point above the bottom three.

Since a surprise 4-2 home loss to Preston North End way back on October 4th, Brentford have lost just one of their following 13 Championship matches. As we touched on, the Bees are unbeaten in ten, though six of those have ended in draws.

Nottingham Forest would give everything for a win this Saturday, but Brentford’s qualities should shine through at the City Ground. The Londoners have already won without conceding on seven occasions in all competitions this season. Have a punt on the visitors to win to nil at the weekend at 23/10.
