EFL Championship Matchday 3: Best Betting Football Tips

Watford vs. Luton Town: EFL Championship Betting Tip

On Saturday afternoon, Watford and Luton Town lock horns at Vicarage Road. The Hatters have won both of their Championship fixtures so far this season.

Watford have made a steady start under new boss Vladimir Ivic. The Hertfordshire club kicked off their Championship season with a 1-0 home win over Middlesbrough, which they followed up with 0-0 draw at Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.

Our betting prediction:
Glenn Murray to score first

Nathan Jones’ Luton have been excellent thus far, beating Barnsley 1-0 and Derby County 2-1. Before the midweek loss to Premier League giants Manchester United in the Carabao Cup, Town had won four league and cup games in a row at the start of this season.

Luton may have taken maximum points, but Saturday’s trip to Vicarage Road will surely be their toughest challenge yet. Our money is going on the home win at 4/6.

Cardiff City vs. Reading: Best Football League Betting Predictions

Neil Harris’ Cardiff City welcome Veljko Paunovic’s Reading to the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday. The Royals are one of three teams left with a 100% record in the Championship.

After losing 2-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday, Cardiff hit back with an important three points on the road last time out. New signing Kieffer Moore was the hero against Nottingham Forest, netting twice in a 2-0 victory at the City Ground.

Reading have won three of their opening four in all competitions, with two of those victories coming in the Championship. After winning 2-0 at Pride Park on the opening weekend, the Royals beat Barnsley by the same scoreline at the Madejski Stadium last time out.

Reading have a good recent record over the Bluebirds, but we can see the pair playing out an entertaining draw in the Welsh capital on Saturday. The draw and both teams to score is available at 7/2.

Millwall vs. Brentford: EFL Championship Betting Odds & Predictions

Two London sides go head-to-head at The Den at the weekend, as Gary Rowett’s Millwall host Thomas Frank’s Brentford. The Bees make the short trip across as London as the favourites with the bookies.

Millwall have taken four points from their opening two league fixtures. After drawing 0-0 at home with Stoke City, the Lions secured a narrow 1-0 win over Rotherham United at the New York Stadium last Saturday.

Brentford have got their act together after losing at Birmingham City on the opening weekend, easing past Huddersfield Town at the new Brentford Community Stadium last Saturday. Frank’s troops have also seen off Premier League sides Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion in the EFL Cup.

This promises to be a cracking fixture at The Den this weekend, but Brentford should edge past the dogged Lions. We like the look of the 2-1 Bees victory at 8/1.

Bournemouth vs. Norwich City: Best Championship Betting Tips on Matchday 3

On Sunday in the Championship, Bournemouth and Norwich go head-to-head at the Vitality Stadium. Having dropped down from the Premier League last term, both the Cherries and Canaries will be looking for an instant return to the top tier.

Jason Tindall’s full-time managerial role at Bournemouth has started well. The Cherries drew 1-1 at Middlesbrough last week, but they kicked off their league campaign with a 3-2 home victory over Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn Rovers.

Norwich have also taken four points from two league matches. The Canaries beat Huddersfield Town 1-0 at the John Smith’s Stadium on matchday one before drawing 2-2 with Preston North End at Carrow Road last weekend.

This tasty Championship encounter could go either way at the Vitality. However, we can see the home team just having the edge. You can get Bournemouth to win by a one-goal margin at the tempting odds of 3/1.
