EFL Championship Matchday 33: Best Betting Football Tips

Derby County vs. Nottingham Forest: EFL Betting Tip

Rivals Derby and Nottingham Forest meet in a tasty fixture at the Pride Park on Friday night. With both teams in good form, this derby could go either way. However, Wayne Rooney’s Rams are the bookies’ favourites.

Derby have shown a big improvement since Rooney landed the managerial job on a permanent basis. County have won six of their last eight in the Championship to move eight points clear of the drop zone. The Rams have won four in a row at home.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
6/5

Chris Hughton has done an excellent job since taking over at the City Ground. Hughton has made Nottingham Forest hard to beat and extremely tough to play against. Since a 3-1 home loss to Brentford in December, the Reds have lost only two of 14 Championship games.

This one could go either way at Pride Park, so we fancy the rivals to play out another draw. The pair drew 1-1 in the reverse match at the City Ground back October – a repeat scoreline on Friday is available at 5/1.

Bournemouth vs. Watford: Best Football League Betting Predictions

Saturday’s early kick off in the Championship comes from the Vitality Stadium, as Jonathan Woodgate’s Bournemouth entertain Xisco Munoz’s Watford. After the midweek results, the Cherries dropped out of the top six.

Bournemouth have struggled in recent weeks, winning just two of their last ten Championship encounters, losing six of those along the way. On Wednesday night, Bournemouth were beaten at home by promotion rivals Cardiff, who leapfrogged Woodgate’s men in the table.

Munoz has made a strong start to life at Vicarage Road. Watford are starting to build some serious momentum, securing successive league wins over Bristol City, Preston North End, Derby and Blackburn Rovers. The Hertfordshire club are level on points with second-place Brentford.

Bournemouth will be desperate for a home win after a poor run of results, but we can see the in-form Hornets leaving the coast with all three points. Back the Watford win and both teams to score at 9/2.

Middlesbrough vs. Cardiff City: EFL Betting Odds & Predictions

Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough and Mick McCarthy’s Cardiff lock horns at the Riverside Stadium in a tasty Championship clash this Saturday. The Bluebirds are the form team in the division at present, winning six on the spin.

Middlesbrough are still in the mix for promotion, but Warnock’s troops have been poor at home of late. They ended 2020 with four straight home wins, but they have lost five of their following six at the Riverside since the turn of the year. Boro are three points behind sixth place ahead of this round of fixtures.

Cardiff have been in tremendous form since McCarthy arrived in the Welsh capital. City drew two before winning six games on the bounce to fire themselves into the play-offs. Before Big Mick’s arrival, the Bluebirds had lost six in a row in all competitions.

Cardiff look unstoppable at the moment, and we are backing the Welsh outfit to make it seven victories on the trot this weekend. Unibet have the away win nicely priced at 19/10.

Middlesbrough 31/20

Cardiff City 19/10

Wycombe Wanderers vs. Norwich City: Best EFL Championship Betting Tips on Matchday 33

Daniel Farke’s Norwich are in action this Sunday, as the leaders travel to Adams Park to play Gareth Ainsworth’s Wycombe, who prop up the Championship table. As you would expect, City are the clear favourites to get the points in Buckinghamshire.

After winning the EFL League One play-offs to book their spot in the Championship for the first time, Wycombe have struggled for wins. In fact, the Chairboys have picked up just five victories from 31 league games this season, losing 18 times in the process. Wanderers are heading for an instant return to the third tier.

Norwich, who finished bottom of the Premier League last term, look a good bet to rejoin England’s elite next season. The Canaries are flying high at the top of the Championship table, seven points clear of Brentford and Watford.

Norwich head to Adams Park having won four consecutive Championship games, keeping clean sheets in two of those. We fancy the leaders to stop Wycombe from scoring in a comfortable win on Sunday. Have a punt on the away team to win to nil, which is available at 11/8.
