EFL Championship Matchday 36: Best Betting Football Tips

Luton Town vs. Swansea City: EFL Betting Tip

On Saturday afternoon, Luton Town and Swansea City go head-to-head in EFL Championship action at Kenilworth Road. The Swans are level on points with second-place Watford, so they could end the day in the top two.

Luton have had a solid season under Nathan Jones, winning 12 of 34 league matches. The Hatters are in 16th spot with 44 points to their name. Town look set for another season in the Championship, as they are currently 12 points clear of the bottom three.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
10/11

Swansea are flying high in third spot at present, taking an impressive 66 points thus far. They are level with Watford, who have played a game more. Overall, the Swans have won 19, drawn nine and lost six. City have taken seven points from the last nine on offer.

Swansea have one of the best away records in the Championship, winning half of 16. We fancy Steve Cooper’s boys to secure a comfortable away victory on Saturday. Take a punt on the visitors to win -1 at 10/3.

Bournemouth vs. Barnsley: Best Football League Betting Predictions

Promotion chasers Bournemouth and Barnsley do battle in a fascinating Championship fixture at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday. Only two points separate the pair in the table, with the Tykes in sixth and the Cherries in seventh. Who will come out on top in this huge fixture?

Jonathan Woodgate’s Bournemouth are back on track after two wins and a draw from their last three. Prior to that, they had lost back-to-back games to Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff City. The Cherries will move back into the top six with three points this weekend.

Valerien Ismael’s Barnsley are one of the form teams in the Championship at present. The Tykes are unbeaten in ten in the league, winning seven and drawing three. Before last Wednesday’s goalless stalemate with Derby County, Barnsley had won seven on the spin.

This one could go either way, but we fancy Bournemouth to nick a narrow win on their own patch. Put some money on the hosts to win by one goal at 11/4.

Bournemouth 5/4

Cardiff City vs. Watford: EFL Betting Odds & Predictions

Mick McCarthy’s Cardiff City and Xisco Munoz’s Watford do battle at the Cardiff City Stadium this Saturday in what promises to be a Championship cracker in South Wales. With both teams in fine fettle, this could go either way.

Before McCarthy arrived in the Welsh capital, Cardiff had lost six in a row in all competitions. However, under the former Republic of Ireland manager, the Bluebirds have won seven and drawn four of 11 Championship matches. City are just four points away from the play-offs.

Watford have been flying under Munoz, with six wins from their last seven games firing them into the top two. Since a 1-0 loss at Bournemouth, the Hornets have hit back with vital back-to-back wins over Wycombe Wanderers and Nottingham Forest.

Despite their lofty league position, Watford have had their problems on the road. As for Cardiff, they have hardly put a foot wrong at the Cardiff City Stadium since Big Mick arrived. Back the Bluebirds to edge this one at 21/10.

Cardiff City 21/10

Watford 7/5

Sheffield Wednesday vs. Norwich City: Best EFL Betting Tips on Matchday 36

Championship leaders Norwich City are in action on Sunday, as Daniel Farke takes his high-flying Canaries to Hillsborough to play Darren Moore’s struggling Sheffield Wednesday. As you would expect, City are the clear favourites in this one.

Sheffield Wednesday are in dire straits, sitting second from bottom on just 28 points. After six consecutive Championship defeats, the Owls are now seven points adrift of safety. They could be in for another long afternoon on Sunday.

While Wednesday are in freefall, Norwich are bulldozing their way to the Championship title. Farke’s boys have moved ten points clear at the top with just a handful of games to go. Since losing at Swansea on 5th February, Norwich have won seven on the spin.

The Canaries should be far too strong for sorry Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday. Norwich netted two late goals to secure a narrow 2-1 win in the reverse fixture, but this one should be far more straightforward for the leaders. Check out Unibet’s solid price of 17/5 for the away team to be winning at half time and full time.
