EFL Championship Matchday 4: Best Betting Football Tips

Queens Park Rangers vs. Barnsley: EFL Betting Tip

On Saturday afternoon, Mark Warburton’s QPR welcome Markus Schopp’s Barnsley to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium. The R’s are joint top of the Championship table after taking seven points from a possible nine so far. Will they move on to ten points this weekend?

QPR could be a dark horse in the promotion race this term, and Warburton’s men have made an excellent start. Rangers have built on last season’s strong finish, drawing with Millwall in game one before a convincing 3-0 win at Hull City on matchday two. The Londoners then beat Middlesbrough 3-2 at the Riverside Stadium last time out.

Our betting prediction:
Lyndon Dykes to score first
11/2

Markus Schopp has made an indifferent start to life at Oakwell. The Tykes picked up a point at Cardiff City on the opening weekend before beating Coventry City at home last Saturday. However, they were beaten in midweek, losing 1-0 at home to Luton Town.

Queens Park Rangers have just had a superb week on the road, and we fancy them to secure all three points in front of their home supporters this Saturday. The QPR win is priced at 57/50.

Cardiff City vs. Millwall: Best Football League Betting Predictions

Cardiff and Millwall do battle in South Wales on Saturday. Fixtures between these two passionate clubs are often ding-dong battles, and this one at the Cardiff City Stadium is likely to be no different. The Bluebirds are the favourites on home soil.

Cardiff preserved their undefeated start with a last-gasp equaliser at Peterborough United on Tuesday night. Prior to that, Mick McCarthy’s boys had drawn at home with Barnsley and beaten Blackpool away from home. Will the Welsh side still be unbeaten after this one?

Gary Rowett’s Millwall have collected just two points from their opening three games. After a 1-1 draw at QPR, the Lions then drew 1-1 at home with Blackburn Rovers. In midweek, two early goals gave Fulham a 2-1 win at The Den.

Incredibly, each of the last seven Cardiff vs Millwall meetings have ended level. Last season, the pair played out two 1-1 draws, but we fancy the Bluebirds to end the drawing streak on Saturday. The Cardiff win and both teams to score is available at 9/2.

Fulham vs. Hull City: EFL Betting Odds & Predictions

Marco Silva’s Fulham will be looking for their third Championship win of the season when Silva’s former club Hull City visit Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon. To no surprise, the Cottagers are the overwhelming favourites with the bookies.

Fulham have looked like title favourites in their last two. They walloped Huddersfield Town 5-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium last weekend. The Whites then scored twice in the opening eight minutes to leave Millwall with a 2-1 victory in midweek.

Hull, last season’s EFL League One winners, started their season with a handsome 4-1 win at Preston North End. Unfortunately, they have taken zero points since then, losing 3-0 to QPR and 1-0 to Derby County, with both games taking place on home soil.

We fancy in-form Fulham to breeze past the Tigers at the Cottage on Saturday. Check out the decent odds of 21/20 for the Cottagers to be winning at half time and full time of this one.

Fulham 2/5

Stoke City vs. Nottingham Forest: Best EFL Championship Betting Tips on Matchday 4

Michael O’Neill’s Stoke City welcome Chris Hughton’s Nottingham Forest to the bet365 Stadium this Saturday. The Potters have been superb so far, taking seven points from their opening three games. In contrast, Forest have lost all three Championship matches so far.

Stoke have picked up wins against Reading and Swansea City. They also beat Fleetwood Town in the first round of the EFL Cup. Their only dropped points came in a 0-0 draw at Birmingham City last weekend. Can City secure a fourth league and cup victory on Saturday?

Nottingham Forest made a woeful start to last season, and defeat this weekend will equal last term’s record of four straight defeats. Forest have been beaten 2-1 three times, losing to Coventry, Bournemouth and Blackburn. They could lose again this Saturday.

Stoke have been very easy on the eye so far, scoring eight goals in all competitions. We fancy O’Neill’s boys to comfortably get the better of Forest at the bet365. Take a punt on Stoke to win -1 at 13/5.
