EFL Championship Matchday 6: Best Betting Football Tips

Birmingham City vs. Derby County: EFL Betting Tip

Birmingham and Derby go head-to-head at St Andrew’s in the Championship on Friday night. Both teams struggled last season, but the pair have made decent starts to their 2021-22 Championship campaigns. Who can come out on top in this one?

Birmingham currently occupy eighth spot in the Championship table after two wins, two draws and one defeat so far. After losing at home to Bournemouth in mid-August, City bounced back with a thumping 5-0 win at Luton Town before drawing 1-1 at Barnsley.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
11/10

Before a ball was kicked this season, Wayne Rooney’s Derby had been tipped to struggle. However, the Rams have made a solid enough start, losing only one of their opening five matches. Three of the other four have ended in draws. County are in 15th place ahead of Friday night’s game.

No team in the second tier have drawn more games than Derby this term, and we fancy the Rams to hold Birmingham to a stalemate at St Andrew’s. The 1-1 draw at 11/2 has caught the eye.

Derby County 18/5

Blackpool vs. Fulham: Best Football League Betting Predictions

In-form Fulham make the trip to Bloomfield Road to face Blackpool on Saturday. The Seasiders have yet to win in the Championship this season, while the Cottagers have dropped just two points. Fulham are the massive favourites in this one.

Blackpool, last season’s EFL League One play-off winners, have struggled to adapt to Championship life. After five games played, the Tangerines have drawn two and lost three. Neil Critchley’s side are currently in 22nd position in the Championship table.

Fulham have looked the real deal so far under new boss Marco Silva. After opening up with a 1-1 draw, the London side have won four in a row in the Championship, seeing off Huddersfield Town, Millwall, Hull City and Stoke City. A 3-0 win over the Potters before the break took them top on goal difference.

Fulham will be hoping to make it six league and cup wins on the bounce this weekend. They should be too strong for Pool at Bloomfield Road, and there is good value in 33/10 for the Cottagers to win both halves of this one.

West Bromwich Albion vs. Millwall: EFL Betting Odds & Predictions

Valerien Ismael’s West Brom face Gary Rowett’s Millwall at The Hawthorns on Saturday. The Baggies are joint top with Fulham after taking 13 points from a possible 15. West Brom are the clear favourites in this one at 3/5.

Like he did at Barnsley last year, Ismael has hit the ground running at West Brom. Albion have won four and drawn one of their opening five fixtures, winning four on the spin in the league since a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth on the opening weekend. After a humbling 6-0 home loss to Arsenal in the EFL Cup, the Midlands side hit back with a 1-0 win at Peterborough United last time out.

Millwall failed to win any of their opening four in the league, drawing two before suffering back-to-back defeats. However, the Lions roared to a much-needed victory before the international break, with Jed Wallace and Jake Cooper scoring in a 2-1 home success over Blackpool.

Millwall will be in high spirits after their victory over Blackpool last time out, and the Londoners could be tricky customers for West Brom. However, we fancy the home win and both teams to score at 13/5.

West Bromwich Albion 3/5

Millwall 21/4

Nottingham Forest vs. Cardiff City: Best EFL Championship Betting Tips on Matchday 6

On Sunday afternoon, winless Nottingham Forest welcome Cardiff to the City Ground in Championship action. Chris Hughton’s Reds are bottom after taking just one point from a possible 15. Can they upset the Bluebirds in this one?

Forest lost their opening four, but they did manage to pick up a point against rivals Derby at Pride Park before the international break. Overall, though, Nottingham Forest have lost five of their opening seven league and cup fixtures.

Cardiff started well, with Mick McCarthy’s men winning two and drawing two of their opening four Championship matches. However, they lost at home to rivals Bristol City in a Severnside derby before the break, which was only their fourth league defeat under McCarthy.

Cardiff have an excellent recent record over Forest, though the Reds did win the last meeting. This could go either way, so we are backing the draw at 41/20.
