Europa League Tips – October 25th, 2018

The good thing at least about Thursday nights is that there are a lot of betting opportunities available thanks to the Europa League. The difficulty with the Europa League, especially at the group stage, is that it involves a lot of teams that you are probably not all that familiar with.

Read our Europa League ACCA tips for this week, to try and get some good options down.

AC Milan v Betis

The Italians are the favourites for this and we can’t have any arguments with that. They are a good price of 10/11 to win this at the San Siro as well* (betting odds taken on October 22nd, 2018 at 5:48 pm). AC Milan are already top of their group with two wins from two and their recent form (three wins in their last four) and unbeaten home run suggests that they will be alright. Betis are unbeaten in their two group stage games so far, but a narrow home win fits the bill.

FC Zürich v Bayer Leverkusen

This is a battle at the top of Group A with both of these having won their opening two games of the campaign. Which is no big surprise. Leverkusen have been on fire in front of goal with seven goals in their two games so far. The Swiss side can’t match up to that with both of their successes so far being 1-0 results. That’s a clear indication of which way this could go. Leverkusen have to be worth a dabble on the road at 4/5 odds* (betting odds taken on October 22nd, 2018 at 5:48 pm). Zurich have shipped five goals in their last two games.

Salzburg v Rosenborg

This will be the first meeting between the two clubs and we can only seen one winner in this contest. RB Salzburg have won their two group stage games so far and have scored exactly three goals in each. Granted they haven’t been watertight at the back, but that can be overlooked. Rosenborg are bottom of Group B with no point so far and we don’t see them getting anything out of this and Salzburg to win to nil for 20/21 odds has appeal* (betting odds taken on October 22nd, 2018 at 5:48 pm).

Marseille v Lazio

Surprisingly both of these have been beaten by surprise group leaders Eintracht Frankfurt. So this is a huge scrap now in terms of that second qualification place at the top of the table. Marseille, last year’s losing finalists have just the one point from two games and have won their last two at home. Lazio are W4 L2 in their last six but those two wins were both in their last three away games. The draw at 14/5 odds looks about right* (betting odds taken on October 22nd, 2018 at 5:48 pm).

Rennes v Dynamo Kiev

Rennes have three points from their two games in Group K after a 91st-minute penalty gave them a win over Jablonec. They then lost at Astana without getting on the scoresheet. As for Kiev, they have played out back to back 2-2 draws against those two sides in their fixtures. So by that, it’s hard to call a winner. But if you look at the current form overall in all competitions, Kiev tops it and we are backing the away win at 2/1 odds* (betting odds taken on October 22nd, 2018 at 5:48 pm).

Villarreal v Rapid Vienna

Spanish side Villarreal were expected to go out and have a pretty solid campaign here but it has been a bit of a struggle with back to back high-scoring ties against Rangers and Spartak Moscow so far. They are still in touch with the top two here and would leave themselves in a strong spot with three home points here. Rapid Vienna had a lead at Rangers last time out and looked set for a draw until Rangers scored two late goals. Neither of these are in any kind of positive form. Villarreal won their one previous home game against the Austrians we are going to side with them by a one-goal margin at 13/5 odds* (betting odds taken on October 22nd, 2018 at 5:48 pm).
