Baggies to earn a point at Goodison Park

Everton

Everton v West Brom Betting Tips – Premier League 20th January 3.00pm

Things are just not going well for Everton at the moment as they have failed to win any of their last five league games and they have strung together a three-match losing streak as well. Their defence is falling apart again and they are not scoring either. So the revival is well off the table at the moment. West Brom got that elusive win last weekend to snap their twenty match winless streak, will they be able to build on that as they face the out-of-sorts Everton at Goodison on Saturday?

Everton News and Form

Things have not been going all too well for the Toffees recently as they have slipped to a five-match winless streak of form in the top flight and they have lost their last three league games as well. In that five-match sequence without a win, the Toffees have managed to put just the one goal on the board, so they are falling short again up front. They have failed to hit the back of the net in their last two at Goodison Park as well, playing out a 0-0 draw against Chelsea and then a 2-0 home loss against Manchester United and immediately off the bat there may be appeal in this game going under 1.5 goals at Betfair. Everton’s home record in the top flight this season reads W6 D1 L4 at home this season in the top flight and their recent defeat there against Manchester United did snap a positive five-match unbeaten streak of home form that they were on there. Everton have averaged just over 1.5 goals per game at home this season while having conceded an average of just under 1.4 goals per game. The half time draw is well worth a look in this one as there is a trend there because Everton have been level at half time in seven of their eleven home games in the top flight this term. In the correct score market, an Everton 1-0 is the shortest-priced option to call on and it’s hard to see a lot of goals in this as Everton are crying out for extra quality up front.

West Brom News and Form

Finally, the long wait for a top-flight win has come to an end for West Brom. After twenty games without a win, they collected a 2-0 home victory over Brighton last weekend to snap that sequence and that will have been a huge sigh of relief coming with that victory. They are still in the relegation zone, but that will have given them renewed belief at least that they can claw their way out. West Brom are only W1 L3 on the road in their last four and they are winless still in ten away from the Hawthorns with a W1 D3 L7 under their belt in that run. Another clue that this is most likely going to end up being a low scoring game is the fact that West Brom have just six away goals all season to their name and just 27% of their away fixtures this season have actually managed to get over the 2.5 goal line. Of the six away goals, they have scored, four of them have come in the second half of games and both teams not to score at Betfair is probably the way to play it safe in this one. Just two West Brom players, Salomon Rondon and Jay Rodriguez have managed to make it three goals for the league this season for West Brom. Much like Everton, they do badly need some extra firepower. There is every chance that they will turn up and compete and challenge hard for a point. But where they can immediately snap that winless streak on the road is a different matter entirely.

Everton v West Brom Head to Head

The 0-0 draw played out between these two at the Hawthorns just after Christmas was a huge surprise, said no-one. It was predictable and this one may well get close to going the same way. West Brom are winless in their last three against Everton in the top flight now, but they have held their own with a W1 D2 L1 record in their last four league visits to Everton. Both teams have scored in just two of the last seven Premier League meetings.

Everton v West Brom Predictions

Draw: The Baggies will have a renewed belief about staying up now that they have gotten that win under their belt. They should be good enough stick in there at Goodison Park and get a draw out of this one, because their defence should keep a non-threatening Everton pretty much at bay in the game.
