Everton News and Form – Will Toffees beat Wolves at Goodison Park?

Everton earned four points this season. Those points came from a draw against Crystal Palace and a 1-0 success over Watford. Then last weekend the Toffees, who were expected to get better and better, crashed to a 2-0 loss at the newly promoted Aston Villa. Everton found themselves on the back foot for long periods of that game. So things have not been going to plan by any stretch of the imagination this season. In midweek they claimed a 4-2 victory at Lincoln in the EFL Cup. Everton sent out a strong side for that cup fixture as well.

In it, they gave starts to Moise Kean, Fabian Delph and Alex Iwobe at Sincil Bank. They were only level at 2-2 with twenty minutes left on the clock. But then Iwobi and Richarlison got late goals for them to avoid any upset. On paper they have a great squad and the potential is there. It just hasn’t come out yet. All of their league games this season have gone under 2.5 goals. In their one home game in the EPL this season, Bernard’s lone goal got the Toffees a 1-0 success over Watford.

  • Everton have just two goals this season

Wolves News and Form – Can Wolves find their Premier League form?

It has been three draws from three for Wolves in the Premier League season. So it hasn’t clicked for them either. Those points were earned against Leicester, Man Utd and Burnley. It has been a busy season for them though as they have battled their way through the Europa League qualifiers to get to the group stage.

They have been great in Europe but it just hasn’t happened for them on the domestic scene. Wolves have actually been a little bit lucky to get their points from their last two top flight games. That’s because Man Utd missed what was a potentially match-winning penalty against them. Then Wolves got a late, late equaliser against Burnley last weekend in the 97th minute. From the penalty spot.

The two goals then that Wolves have conceded in this seasons top-flight have come in the first half of games, they have scored their two goals after the halftime break. Maybe now the European qualifiers are successfully done, Wolves will get to their best in the Premier League before the group stage of the Europa League starts. Wolves went W6 D5 L8 away from home last season. They have won just one of their last eight on the road in the top flight now.

Everton v Wolves Predictions

Draw: It is too close to call on this one. Neither side have discovered their top gear as of yet and therefore we can’t look past the draw in the match outright. Wolves should have enough defensive strength to hold out for a point on Merseyside.
