Everton News and Form

Everton collected a 1-0 victory away at bottom side Huddersfield on Tuesday night. They scored early in the game and just couldn’t follow up with a second. They did also finish the game with 10 men with Digne seeing red. But they get back to Goodison Park on the weekend where they have produced a W6 D3 L3 Premier League record this season.

In their last home game, they collected a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth, which snapped a four-match winless streak of form at home that they were on (D2 L2). Overall home and away, Everton have lost five of their last eight (D3).

Everton have produced an average of 1.7 goals per home game this season and 33% of league fixtures at Goodison Park have ended over 3.5 goals. The Toffees have collected a clean sheet in a third of their home games. All but one of their five home victories for the season have been with a clean sheet.

One of the big trends involving Everton this season has been half time scorelines. Everton have been level at the break-in 16 of the 24 league fixtures. 11 of those 16 half-time draws were 0-0 scorelines. Everton have scored the opening goal in eight of their 12 home games played.

Everton v Wolves Head to Head

Everton earned a point in a 2-2 draw at Wolves earlier this season
Three of the last five meetings have ended in a draw
Everton have scored at least two goals in three of their last four against Wolves
Wolves are winless in their last eight trips to Goodison Park

Wolves News and Form

Wolves have shown that after promotion from the Championship, you can actually not just survive in the Premier League, but thrive. The fact that they are well on course for a top half of the table finish speaks volumes about their ambition. Their quality too. In midweek they took a 3-0 victory at home over West Ham which leaves them with back-to-back league wins.

Wolves have come up with seven goals in their last two league outings. Overall away from home they are W4 D3 L3 this season. It is perhaps worth noting that three of those four away wins were against teams currently in the bottom half of the table. However, to their credit, Wolves have lost just one of their four away games played against sides currently in the top eight.

In their last away game Wolves lost 3-0 against Manchester City. But in their away fixture prior to that, they came up with a fantastic win at Tottenham. Wolves have averaged exactly one goal per away game this season, but they have been defensively tight. They have shipped only 13 goals in their 11 away games.

Because of that only 36% of their away fixtures have ended up over 2.5 goals. They have only suffered one defeat (the game at Manchester City), in their last four away league fixtures. Of the away goals they have produced 73% have been after the half-time break, and Wolves have failed to take a clean sheet in any of their last seven on the road.

Everton v Wolves Predictions

Everton to win: The Toffees have struggled for form lately but they look better at home than they do on the road. They can be backed to get three points out of this fixture here against a Wolves side who don’t always come up with the goals away from home. Everton to win by a one-goal margin.
