Exeter News & Form
Exeter opened the season with a good, albeit narrow home win over Harlequins. That was a three point victory that they got against the Queens at Sandy Park. But then Exeter went and lost by a three point margin out at Bath in their first road game of the season. They did make amends on a visit to Worcester in their top flight fixture this season.
The trend of low-margin games involving the Chiefs this season continued, as they beat Worcester by four points last weekend. Exeter are W2 L2 in their last four league games (going back to the end of last season). They are a pretty formidable side at Sandy Park however and are undefeated in all competitions there since December last year in league action.
Exeter vs Bristol Head to Head
Exeter beat Bath 14-9 in last season’s meeting at Sandy Park
The Chiefs took a two-point win on the road against them as well
Exeter haven’t lost to Bristol since 2009
The last two home wins for Exeter over Bath have been by a margin of less than 7
Bristol News & Form
Anyone who turns up at Sandy Park is not going to get an easy game. Bristol have a little bit of form behind them. They have taken a win in six of their last seven Premiership games (including last season). It has been a W2 L1 record from their three games in league action this season. The loss that the Bears suffered this season happened in their one road game which was out at the in-form Harlequins.
That was a loss suffered by just the five points, so were in touch. Their two home wins this season came against local rivals Bath and then Sale. Two of their three games this season have been settled by a margin of no more than six points. The last time that the Bears beat Exeter was in 2009, and that was at Sandy Park.

Exeter vs Bristol Prediction
Exeter are never knocked over easily at Sandy Park and they should not be in this one. Both of these have been involved in a big chunk of tight games so far in this season’s Premiership (for the large part) and therefore it’s probably worth backing a small handicap margin for this one. Back the Bears to keep it under ten points in defeat.
