FA Cup 2nd Round Replay Preview & Predictions

Football Betting

There are seven FA Cup Second Round replays coming up this week as the draw for the Third Round will be finalised. There are three non-league sides left trying to book their places in the next round and the lowest ranked of them, Hereford FC will be hoping to get past Fleetwood Town for a big shot at Premier League opposition in Leicester. AFC Fylde gets to go again against Wigan while Woking will look to move past Peterborough into the Third Round.

Carlisle v Gillingham

The winner of this goes on to meet Sheffield Wednesday in the next round. League Two’s Carlisle, who have shown a lot of resilience this season and who again have been pretty solid on home soil have a chance in this one against League One opposition. The Cumbrians, who have been defensively sound recently are well worth a flutter at even money with Betfair on home soil to pull this out of the bag.

Crewe v Blackburn

The struggling Railwaymen pulled off one of the comebacks of the second round when these two met at Ewood Park. The League Two side found themselves 3-0 down after just fifteen minutes and looked dead and buried. However, they threw caution to the wind, saw Blackburn get two players sent off and they dramatically pulled themselves back level. However, they are a struggling side and with Rovers going so well on a big 12 match unbeaten streak, you would expect Rovers at 4/6 to finish the job at the Alexandra Stadium. It’s worth backing both teams to score though.

Exeter v Forest Green

Forest Green, from 2-1 down pulled two late goals back at home against the Grecians, the second of those coming in the 92nd minute to look as if they are going to go through. However, they conceded an equaliser in the 94th minute in a classic FA Cup dramatic finish and now Exeter, who are the stronger of the League Two sides, should get through on home soil. The Grecians aren’t quite on top of their game at the moment but can close out a narrow win at 4/6.

Peterborough v Woking

The Posh have won just one of their last six games and had a task on their hand against non-league side Woking. They survived however and the League One side will be firm favourites now back on home soil to move through to the next round. They are 2/5 odds on and even though they aren’t in great form, more usual than not, is that if the underdogs don’t have their day at home, they usually miss out.

Wigan v AFC Fylde

The Latics got through their banana-skin match out at AFC Fylde in the first attempt and they should be stronger back on home soil and their price of 1/4 reflects that. It’s another good pay day for AFC Fylde though who are down in the bottom half of the National League. It’s probably over for them and the Latics can take this to nil.

Yeovil v Port Vale

The Glovers played out a 1-1 draw at Port Vale in the first attempt and now a bit of favouritism swings to them. These two are stuck together just outside of the League Two drop zone and so this should be a close contest. That’s two 1-1 draws that these two have already played out this season against each other. Port Vale’s successes have largely been at home and so they may have just missed their chance of getting through this tie in order to face Bradford in the next round.

Hereford v Fleetwood

Hereford, from the seventh tier, are the lowest ranked side left in the competition. They weren’t given too much of a chance against League One side Fleetwood in the first meeting. But the underdogs hung in there to get their huge payday back on home soil. The winner of the tie will go on to host Leicester City in the next round. Unfortunately, the underdogs rarely are able to take advantage of second chances in times like this. Fleetwood are 8/13 odds with Betfair on to progress to the Third Round.
