Rangers began their qualification campaign in the first round of this season’s Europa League. It was all too easy there for them against Gibraltar’s St Joseph’s, Rangers beating them 10-0 on aggregate. Then they got past Progres Niedercorn with only a 2-0 aggregate scoreline in the last round.

Rangers were expected to do a little bit more than a 2-0 success, but it was progress at the end of the day against the Luxembourg side. Rangers too did keep their clean sheet streak for the European season going, so that is a huge positive for them.

The Rangers had a dramatic opener to their new domestic season, a last-gasp winner getting them maximum points at Kilmarnock. It is worth noting the away form of Rangers in Europe. The Gers are only W2 D5 L2 in their last nine road games, winning just one of their last seven (a 4-0 success at St Joseph’s this season). They are going to have to show some character out on the road in a tough-looking away game.
