The Joint Favourites

Lining up as 4/1 joint-favourites are Big Chip And Pin and Vanderbilt* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 19:35 GMT on Thursday, 5th March 2020). The latter claimed a second-place finish from 15/2 at Wincanton in a 1m 7f trip in January. He has placed four times over the hurdles from 17 races.

Big Chip And Pin was a beaten favourite the last time out, and that was because he pulled up. That was back in April last year on what was his chase debut. From his 10 attempts at the hurdles he has placed twice. He was at the back of the field as well when he fell and never looked settled on that debut.

Kerb Line

There was a decent bit of progress made for Kerb Line when he went off in a maiden hurdle in January. He took on the 2m trip at Exeter in January and was 6th of 16. Never quite got the clean run that he was hoping for in that run, but still piques some interest at 6/1* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 19:35 GMT on Thursday, 5th March 2020)

Freedelivery

Freedelivery is a course and distance winner, but the six-year-old is unpredictable to say the least. His course and distance success happened in mid-December at Ffos Las at class 4.

He went back out a month later in a longer trip at 2m 2f and didn’t go well at all, coming home second from last in a field of 12.

That C&D aside, he has been outclassed in all of his other runs but goes as a 6/1 option* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 19:35 GMT on Thursday, 5th March 2020)

Timassini

There was a third-place finish by Timassini on her last trip which was 2m effort at Taunton in January. She was well beaten by 16l by Minnie Escape, but overall it wasn’t a terrible run at all and that’s two places in her last five runs, so has a bit of form. She has fairly well supported in this open race at 5/1* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 19:35 GMT on Thursday, 5th March 2020)

Another Tuco

With a proven bit of distance from a previous 3m point to point success, Another Tuco may have some appeal. He was well beaten in his last effort through which was at Kempton over 2m 5f.

He was second last in that race. Out at the 10/1 range, punters will be banking on the scope for improvement at each way* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 19:35 GMT on Thursday, 5th March 2020).

Predictions & Tips

Such a wide-open field with no real stand out contender. Vanderbilt is a pound lower than in his last race, but he just doesn’t seem to have the winning touch about him.

Big Chip And Pin has too many questions after a long lay off.

Free Delivery piques a bit of interest because of course and distance victory but is otherwise largely unpredictable.

So it is to Tomassini where our attention will go. Some steady form from the Evan Williams-trained charge gets her the nod.
