Football Betting Prediction: Bottom Half Safe

The Strengths:
Football betting on Fulham this season, is a vastly different one from which transpired last season, although there are enough pointers to guide your Fulham betting. Their home performances at Craven Cottage, made it a place which teams had a certain degree of trepidation about visiting. Liverpool were on the wrong end of a 3-1 defeat there, and Manchester United were beaten 3-0. This was all under the guidance of Roy Hodgson, who also led them to the final of the Europa League as well. However, their league finish of twelfth was a bit disappointing after promising so much more. With Hodgson packing his backs and turning his back on the club to go and manage Liverpool, Mark Hughes has stepped into the breach and you wonder what the new season will bring. One thing Hughes will do is add a little more back bone to the side, perhaps adding a little more of a physical nature, in order to do something about their less than ideal away record. Hughes can be considered as a strength of Fulham, as his no-nonsense approach to the game and personnel, may just make them that little bit tougher and sharper. There is nothing wrong with the way Fulham play football, they did very well using width, and getting the best out of the players that were in the squad. Another season under Hodgson may have seen them slip back further. With Hughes now in charge, and having the profile to attract the missing pieces of the puzzle, and there may be hope that a challenge for a European spot can be mounted again.

The Weaknesses:
Despite the positives which can be said about Fulham last season, for Hodgson, it was still a 12th place finish and there was no silverware, and no return to Europe for the London club. Maybe they were flattering to deceive, or whether their Europa League matches were becoming a distraction, it all points to the squad not being mentally tough enough or ready for the challenges that were there. Will Fulham back up Mark Hughes fully with transfer funds, or will he have to work with what he has? Unpredictable and a Jekyll and Hyde team away in their home and away fixtures. That’s something which has to be stamped out, and obvious weaknesses in the back line will need to be fixed as well. Not too much wrong really, but there are small fissures which could send the house of cards tumbling.

Premier League Start: Bolton 0, Fulham 0

Fulham Betting Home: Very good if they keep it up again this season. They had a very respectable 58% win percentage at Craven Cottage, losing just five matches there. Were something of a banker to pick up points at home, and if Hughes can use his experience to add to the good set up already in place, then they could be an even tougher proposition in Barclays Premier League betting at home.

Fulham Betting Away:
Not so good, so pencil this one into your football betting strategy. One away win all season won’t do any good for any team, and that was on the opening day of the season against Portsmouth. But Fulham were able to pick up eight draws. The eleven losses on the road, those 33 points were a major blow, including losing four consecutive matches away from home. Unpredictable and very streaky in form.

Fulham Best Football Betting Stat: 5% win percentage away from home. Mark Hughes has to fix this, and until they get a couple of good away wins under their belt, they could be jittery. Therefore, it could be worth taking bets against them when they hit the road.
