France v Andorra Predictions & Betting Odds – 10th September 2019

Comfortable win for the world champions

France v Andorra Betting Tips – UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifier, 10th September 19.45pm

Didier Deschamps’ France go into this UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier with Koldo Alvarez’s Andorra as the 1/100 favourites to seal the win. How many goals will the world champions win by at the Stade de France on Tuesday night? The French have responded well from their shock defeat to Turkey in June, and they should have no problems adding another three points to their tally in this one.

France News and Form – Big win for Les Bleus?

France have won four and lost one of their five Euro 2020 qualifiers to sit joint top of Group H with Turkey and Iceland on 12 points apiece. Meanwhile, Albania have six points, Moldova have picked up three, while Andorra are pointless after five matches.

France, who won the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia last year, kicked off their qualifying campaign with a convincing 4-1 win against Moldova at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau. They then thumped the Icelanders 4-0 in Saint-Denis before losing 2-0 to Turkey in Konya in June. However, Les Bleus have hit back with back-to-back wins since then.

After cruising to a 4-0 victory against Andorra at the Estadi Nacional in Andorra la Vella, France claimed an easy 4-1 victory over Albania at the Stade de France last weekend. Kingsley Coman helped himself to a brace, while there were also goals for Olivier Giroud and Jonathan Ikone.

In an extremely competitive group, France could do with a big win over the weakest side on Tuesday evening. In truth, this should be a stroll in the park for Deschamps’ boys.

France v Andorra Head to Head

Back in June, goals from Kylian Mbappe, Wissam Ben Yedder, Florian Thauvin and Kurt Zouma gave France a 4-0 win in Andorra

France have won the last two meetings by four goals to nil

The French have won all four of the previous meetings

Key-Facts – France v Andorra

  • France are the reigning world champions
  • Andorra have won just one game in over two years
  • The Andorrans have yet to score in this qualifying campaign

Andorra News and Form – Can the Andorrans keep the scoring low?

Andorra are currently ranked 136th in the FIFA World Rankings, 133 places below France. The Andorrans have been the whipping boys in Group H, losing all five of their Euro 2020 qualifiers so far. Tricolors have scored none and shipped 11 in the process.

The Andorrans kicked off their campaign with a 2-0 home loss to Iceland, and things have not gotten any easier for the minnows since. Defeats to Turkey, Moldova and France followed.

Last weekend, however, Koldo Alvarez’ troops put up a brave fight against the Turks at Vodafone Park in Istanbul. Andorra frustrated the hosts, with Ozan Tufan finally finding the breakthrough in the 89th minute. A point against Turkey would have been an exceptional result for Andorra but it wasn’t to be.

Andorra head to Saint-Denis without a win since beating Lichtenstein in a friendly back in March 2018. Since then, they have lost eight and drawn five of their subsequent 13 matches. Meanwhile, since battling to a 0-0 draw with Latvia last November, Andorra have lost five in a row, which have all been qualifiers.

The bookies are giving Alvarez’s men no chance in Saint-Denis on Tuesday, with some even pricing them at 200/1 (Ladbrokes & Coral).

France v Andorra Predictions

France win: On paper, this should be a routine victory for the hosts. Of course, football isn’t played on paper, but the 2018 World Cup winners should ease to a victory at the Stade de France on Tuesday night. The Blues have been leading at the break in each of their four qualifying wins so far. Have a punt on France to be winning at half time and full time in this one, which you can get at 1/9.

As I touched on, Andorra have yet to score a single goal in this qualifying campaign, conceding 11 times to boot. This could be any margin of victory for the French, but Deschamps will want his side to keep things tight at the other end. I’m backing France to keep a clean sheet in a comfortable win in midweek. The hosts are priced at 1/4 to win to nil.
