France vs Moldova Betting Tips – UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifier, 14th November 19.45pm

Didier Deschamps’ France will be looking for a big UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying victory when minnows Moldova travel to the Stade de France on Thursday. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winners are level with Senol Gunes’ Turkey at the top of Group H, but three points in this one will be enough for Les Bleus to progress through to the Euro 2020 finals. This should be a routine home win for France.

France News and Form – Easy win for Les Bleus?

France have been involved in a fierce scrap with Turkey for top spot in Group H. With two fixtures left, the Turks lead the way on the head-to-head record, with the world champions currently four points ahead of third-place Iceland. The French have beaten the Icelanders home and away, and a win from either of their last two games will take Didier Deschamps’ boys through.

Having beaten Iceland in Reykjavik, France let two points slip against Turkey in their last qualifier. Olivier Giroud, who netted the only goal in the win over the Icelanders, opened the scoring for France with just 14 minutes left on the clock. Shortly after, though, Kaan Ayhan levelled things up to keep Turkey at the summit.

France have all but booked their spot in the European Championship finals, but they will want to get the job done on Thursday before facing Albania in Tirana next week. In truth, the French should secure a big margin of victory in Saint-Denis.

France vs Moldova Head to Head

The game between the pair at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau in March was the first ever meeting. The World Cup winners were too strong for the Moldovans. Antoine Griezmann, Raphael Varane, Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappe got on the scoresheet. Vladimir Ambros did pull a consolation goal back in the 89th minute in the 4-1 defeat for the home team.

Key-Facts – France vs Moldova

  • The French have not lost on home soil since Colombia won 3-2 in Paris in March 2018
  • Moldova have lost eight of their past nine
  • The Moldovans have failed to score in their previous five, conceding 14 along the way

Moldova News and Form – Tough night in Paris for the Moldovans

Moldova have had another qualifying campaign to forget. Despite picking up a victory against fellow minnows Andorra in Chisinau back in the summer, the Moldovans have lost all seven of their other eight qualifiers, shipping a staggering 22 goals along the way.

Moldova were thumped 4-0 at home by Albania at the Zimbru Stadium in their last qualifier back in October, which proved to be the final game in charge for Semen Altman. The Moldovans, who are ranked 175th in the world, have lost eight of their last nine internationals.

Engin Firat will be taking charge of Moldova for the first time on Thursday, and what a place to start. Firat’s men are available at the massive price of 110/1 with BetVictor to cause one the biggest upsets in European Championship qualifying history.

France vs Moldova Predictions

France win: On paper, this is a game that the French should win with ease. Turkey have kept Les Bleus honest in Group H, and after dropping points to give the Turks the advantage last time out, Deschamps will want his side to get back to winning ways in this one.

Despite getting on the scoresheet against France and beating Andorra, Moldova have not had an awful lot to shout about in this qualifying campaign. The Moldovans have let in 22 goals, and I fancy them to concede a few more this Thursday. Put some money on France to win -3 at 4/7.

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has scored five times in Group H so far, including against Moldova in the reverse game in Chisinau. The 33-year-old is priced at 2/5 to score anytime on Thursday.
