France Women v Brazil Women Betting Tips – Women’s World Cup, 23rd June 8.00pm

France won their group by taking three wins from three, although it wasn’t all plain sailing for them. But they have looked one of the strongest sides at the tournament so far. They would have been expecting an easier game than this though after winning their group. Brazil were one of the best third-placed teams after some hiccups in their group campaign. Either way, a big name is going to fall in this game. Read our predictions for France Women v Brazil Women.

France Women News and Form

In their opening game of the tournament, France powered their way to a 4-0 win over South Korea. It was a wonderful performance from them and they continued their strong hand in the first half of their game against Norway. But France went off the boil in the second half of that game, winning 2-1 thanks to a controversial penalty kick. They missed a bunch of chances, looking really wasteful in the final third of the pitch in their final match against Nigeria. A late spot-kick from captain Wendie Renard (a retaken spot kick) saw them edge past Nigeria 1-0 to finish with three wins from three.

Other leading contenders at the tournament will have seen that France looked a little vulnerable in that third game of theirs in the group. Still, they are still one of the clear front runners for the title and they are on an eight-match winning streak at the moment. They have a clean sheet in three of their last five games played. Eugenie Le Sommer is at 11/10 in the anytime goalscorer market for the game and the striker has looked pretty sharp this tournament. France have won six of their eight World Cup games now, with just one goal conceded in those victories. They still look the most likely of everyone left to stop the USA from retaining their title.

Brazil Women News and Form

Brazil made a mess of things in the group stage. Heading into the World Cup 2019 they were actually on a nine-match losing streak. But they beat Jamaica 3-0 in their opening game which looked to settle them. They were then 2-0 against Australia in their next game but then they collapsed to suffer a 3-2 defeat as they couldn’t hold their nerve under pressure. But even after that heavy blow, they picked themselves up to win their final group stage match 1-0. That was against Italy and their legend Marta netted from the spot. However, Brazil were second best in that game as the Italians tore them apart but just couldn’t find the back of the net.

While they have that strong partnership of Marta and Christiane upfront they will have a chance. However, Brazil have failed to score in three of their last five games. They had all those problems in the build-up, losing all of their games and that is largely down to their defence. That’s really where their big weaknesses are because they look disorganised with no-one leading them. Brazil are W3 L2 in their last five World Cup games. Three of their last four wins at the tournament have all been 1-0 results. Can they upset the odds in this one?

France Women v Brazil Women Predictions

France to win: There should be a healthy amount of respect on both sides of things in this one. But France are quicker, have a richer depth of talent in their squad and should be able to get the victory on the board in the game. France to win to nil.
