Friday’s Goodwood Festival Racing tips are in focus for this betting preview as we look at six of the day’s races.

The big race of the day is the Group 2 King George Qatar Stakes, while that’s supported by the Group 3 contest of the Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes and the Queen’s Plate Glorious Stakes.

Friday’s Goodwood Festival Racing Tip

BATTAASH could be the one to beat in this one from a quote of 13/8* (betting odds recorded 22:10 GMT on July 29th 2021 at Bet365).

He is the big star of the show having won this fixture in each of the last four editions. The conditions are soft and not ideal.

But Battaash has won on soft ground before. He’s also had a reappearance run under his belt, taking a credible fourth in the King’s Stand, setting a good pace in that one.

DRAGON SYMBOL looks as if he can put huge pressure on the favourite, however. He is on the up and conditions will favour him.

Stewards denied him the win in the Commonwealth Cup during the Royal Ascot Festival and then was just touched off in the July Cup. There are big, big claims.

Another worth a look for the shortlist in this one is SUESA. She is full of potential and picked up a win on each of her first four runs.

She struggled to make an impact in the Commonwealth Cup on her latest but looks a good one.

Friday’s Goodwood Festival Racing Tip

MAYDANNY could be worth revisiting on his return here from a quote of 15/2* (betting odds recorded 22:10 GMT on July 29th 2021 at Bet365).

He has gone close a couple of times this season, taking a second-place finish at Sandown behind MAGICAL MORNING earlier this month.

But he is 6lb better off now and that puts him in with a good chance of reversing that form. Maydanny has received a favourable draw as well.

We would expect MAGICAL MORNING to still be in the thick of things and is well worth a look as he has hit a bit of form.

But the biggest threat to our tip is PATH OF THUNDER.

He is well in for this one with a 3lb penalty and took a terrific score by three lengths in a strong 1m handicap last time out at Newmarket.

Friday’s Goodwood Festival Racing Tip

TACTICAL may be worth chancing as a 16/1 each-way horse racing tip* (betting odds recorded 22:10 GMT on July 29th 2021 at Bet365).

He picked up a Group 2 win in the Windsor Castle at Newmarket last season. There was also a victory on his reappearance and has since gone up in class and acquitted himself well in defeat.

Tactical comes up on a trip for trainer Andrew Balding and may have something to offer. BAAEED is undefeated in three racetrack appearances.

He looks very strong and claimed an easy Listed win at Newmarket three weeks ago. There are probably bigger things ahead.

EL DRAMA drops in class for this competitive fixture. He has produced some good efforts this season, including a win in the Dee Stakes at Chester.

El Drama is on a shorter trip as well here and should produce a big effort.

ELYSIAN FLAME has to be the way to go for this contest at 13/2* (betting odds recorded 22:10 GMT on July 29th 2021 at Bet365).

He’s still low mileage but picked up a good win on a 2m trip at Newbury back in April. He has improved since then as well.

Elysian Flame was last seen in the Ascot Stakes and put in an eye-catching run there in defeat. The softer ground will be more in his favour for Friday.

THE GRAND VISIR is a proven stayer and has enough to get in the frame for this one. He has been ticking over in nice, consistent form recently.

He was a runner up in a Listed contest last time out.

The form of PLATFORM NINETEEN is also of interest for this one. He was last seen just over two weeks ago.

On his return at Beverly after a long absence (he didn’t run last year), he collected an easy win at Beverley.

PASSION AND GLORY is our 10/3 selection for this one on Friday* (betting odds recorded 22:10 GMT on July 29th 2021 at Bet365).

He is seeking a hat-trick as he has gotten himself back on track after a slow start to the season. Passion And Glory missed all of last season.

Those two recent victories happened at Lingfield and Ascot, so he is well worth a look at the moment.

MOGUL is there, but he could be held up a bit by the conditions. The softer ground isn’t going to suit him and any further rain may be a big factor.

Last year there was a win at the Goodwood Festival for Mogul, collecting the Gordon Stakes. The Group 1 winner drops in class here, but overall hasn’t quite been at his best in this campaign.

OUTBOX is another that needs to be considered for the shortlist. It’s been three wins this year, including a score at Newmarket last month.

He was last seen three weeks ago taking second place in a Group 3 at York. Outbox has every chance of making his presence felt with Hollie Doyle booked.

Friday’s Goodwood Festival Racing Tip

MARCHING ARMY takes preference in this one at 6/1* (betting odds recorded 22:10 GMT on July 29th 2021 at Bet365).

Form from his win at Leicester on his last outing has been franked and it looks as if the assessor has given him a good chance here.

This will be the handicap debut for Marching Army on what is his fourth racetrack appearance. There’s likely further improvement to come.

ZIGGY is developing into a good one. He got off the mark last time out, scoring at Nottingham 25 days ago.

That was by a wide margin as well. There’s been a hefty 11lb rise for him, but on a longer trip, warrants plenty of respect.

The form of WINK OF AN EYE can’t be ignored. He completed a hattrick a month ago with a victory at Sandown.

There should be even more to come as he doesn’t look as if he is done improving yet.
