Fulham v Blackburn Rovers Betting Tips – EFL Championship, 10th August 15.00pm

Scott Parker’s Fulham will be looking to get off the mark in the Championship when they host Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn Rovers at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon. The Cottagers kicked off their campaign with a disappointing 1-0 reverse to Championship new boys Barnsley at Oakwell, while Rovers were beaten at home by another promoted club, Charlton Athletic. Will Fulham take maximum points from this one, or can Blackburn cause an upset in west London?

Fulham News and Form – Cottagers to claim first Championship win?

Fulham are one of the title favourites, but the Cottagers crashed to a 1-0 defeat at newly promoted Barnsley in their opening game. It was a pretty even contest at Oakwell, but Luke Thomas’ early strike won the points for the Tykes.

The Londoners had a season to forget in the Premier League, finishing second from bottom with just 26 points to their name. However, they did end their top-flight campaign with three wins from their last five, beating Everton, Bournemouth and Cardiff City.

When Fulham were promoted from the Championship in the 2017-18 season, the Cottagers won 13, drew eight and lost only two of their 23 matches at Craven Cottage, with only Wolverhampton Wanderers, Cardiff and Aston Villa picking up more home points. Can Fulham make the Cottage a fortress again this time around?

Having lost at Barnsley last time out, Fulham will be desperate to hit back with a home victory on Saturday. Parker’s men are available at 3/4 to beat Blackburn, which is a pretty fair price.

Blackburn Rovers News and Form – Another defeat for Mowbray’s boys?

Blackburn Rovers, who were promoted from EFL League One in 2018, finished their first season back in the second tier in a respectable 15th place. The Blue and Whites won 16, drew 12 and lost 18 of their 46 league affairs.

Blackburn will be pushing for a top half finish this season, but they got off to a poor start last weekend. Mowbray’s boys were beaten 2-1 by Lee Bowyer’s Charlton Athletic at Ewood Park, with Lyle Taylor scoring the winner for the visitors with 13 minutes left.

Rovers struggled on the road last season, losing over half of their away matches. However, they did pick up wins at Hull City, Stoke City, Bolton Wanderers, Millwall, Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers. How will they fare away from Ewood Park this term?

Blackburn will be hoping to shock Fulham on Saturday, but Mowbray’s troops head to Craven Cottage as the 15/4 underdogs with bet365.

Fulham v Blackburn Rovers Predictions

Fulham win: Fulham won two of their last three Premier League matches at Craven Cottage last season, beating Everton 2-0 and Cardiff 1-0. I’m backing the Cottagers to take all three points and keep a clean sheet against Blackburn on Saturday, with the Whites priced at 9/4 to win to nil. Fulham scored the opening goal in seven of their nine league and cup victories last term. Back Parker’s men to open the scoring in this one at 1/2.
