Germany UEFA Euro 2020 Preview
Germans to reach the final?
Bookmaker Paddy Power
Odds: 10/3 odds taken 1805 GMT, Wednesday 2 June

UEFA Euro 2020/21 will be Joachim Low’s last tournament as Germany manager. The eccentric boss has had a stunning career in the German dugout, guiding Die Mannschaft to FIFA World Cup glory in 2014. Can Low sign off this summer with the Euro 2020 trophy?

Germany are in the “group of death”, as they take on current European Championship holders Portugal, and 2018 FIFA World Cup winners France. Hungary, who are also a host nation in the group, are the other team battling away in Group F. The Germans will be hoping to get out of the group and go all the way in this pan-European tournament.

The opening fixture of Group F will see the Hungarians and Portuguese do battle at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on 15th June. Shortly after, France and Germany clash in a mouth-watering affair in the Allianz Arena.

Euro 2021 Germany Prediction: Can the Germans reach the final?

Germany are without doubt involved in the toughest group of the Euros. Having said that, they are the favourites to win Group F and book their spot in the Round of 16. In reality, Germany, France or Portugal can win the group, and all three should make it through to the knockout stages.

If the 2014 World Cup winners escape from the group stage with no issues, how can you bet against them going all the way? At Euro 2016, the Germans were knocked out in the last four by hosts France, who they meet in the group stage of this summer’s tournament, of course. Germany followed that up with a woeful showing at the 2018 World Cup.

Despite their forgettable time in Russia, Germany are still a European powerhouse, who are expected to go far in the 2021 Euros. Low’s troops are priced at 6/5 to win the group and just 1/20 to qualify. The winner of the group will play the third-best team of either Group A, B or C.

We fancy the Germans to cruise into the knockout stages. It will be a lottery from then as the big boys battle for supremacy in Europe’s elite competition. However, tasty odds of 10/3 for Germany to reach the final are certainly worth having a look at.

Germany Top Scorer Bets: Will Gnabry’s goals fire the Germans to glory?

Germany have some special players in their squad. Serge Gnabry has had another fine season for Bayern Munich, while Timo Werner rarely fails to turn up in a German shirt. Thomas Muller has a great scoring record for Die Mannschaft, winning the World Cup Golden Boot in 2010. Also, Ilkay Gundogan finished top scorer for Manchester City in the Premier League this season.

Gnabry has not quite been as prolific for Bayern this term as he has been in recent seasons, but the former Arsenal man is still deadly in front of goal. The 25-year-old is the current favourite to finish as Germany’s top scorer in the Euros. Also, you can get the very tempting odds of 16/1 for Munich’s No. 7 to finish top scorer of the tournament outright. He could very well be Germany’s main man this summer.

Other Euro 2020/21 Tips: Three Lions’ time to shine?

Before a ball has been kicked in anger in this eagerly anticipated tournament, the bookies have England as the slight favourites to win the competition. The Three Lions have never been European Champions before, but Gareth Southgate certainly has them heading in the right direction.

England are the tournament favourites, and their skipper is the 9/2 favourite to win the Euro 2020 Golden Boot. Harry Kane finished top scorer in this season’s Premier League, and his six goals at the last World Cup won him the Golden Boot in Russia.

In their one and only previous European Championship appearance, Wales shocked the footballing world by reaching the last four, succumbing to eventual winners Portugal at the semi-final stage. The Dragons gained vast experienced from that tournament, and the Welsh are priced at 12/1 to reach the semis once again.
