He got himself off the market just under a couple of weeks ago in a Newmarket novice effort. There should be more to come from him under handicapping terms. He crushed MOOMBA in that Newmarket win.

Our other pick is going to be CELESTRAN who has knocked around in Listed company before. He recently went well in an Ascot handicap at 12f taeking runner up spot behind Carlos Felix. He could be a good fit in an open field like this.

She looked in really good shape at the Falmouth Stakes, which was always out of her reach, but One Master took fourth there and finished really strong.

Considering that a lot of her time has been spent up at Group 1 over the last 12 months, One Master is a good fit coding down to this and on a shorter trip.

VALERIA MESSALINA is an interesting one in this field. On her return to action she found the going too much in the Irish 1000 Guineas.

BREATHTAKING LOOK is our other pick for this race. A good second place at the Abernant Stakes and then at the Summer Stakes at York suggests that she isn’t far away from a very good score. At the worst here punters are probably looking at place claims on her.

Considering the form that the colt produced on landing the Britannia Stakes on his handicap debut (also his return to action) then he may be hard to knock down in this one.

MY OBERON is one who should get close to him, however. He scored an easy win on his last effort, a York novice. He seems to be heading in the right direction very well and there should be more progress.

TILIST scored a massive victory last time out, storming home 19 lengths clear to score his maiden. This is much tougher company than that of course, but that Newcastle run was impressive and that means he could show in this one.

Prompting has a good draw here and should fancy the trip, even though he carries an extra 5lb for his recent successes at Ayr and York.

he handicapper has been all over him, but 2 wins in his last 3 shows why. His last win was after superb work at Sandown on a mile trip and place claims should be there.

CLIFFS OF CAPRI could be one to watch as well. He has been in great shape since returning to the UK and his last 3 efforts have all been in big fields. There is an extra bit of a trip here for him, but he knows how to dig in and deliver.

So who fills out the places. Or, another way to look at it, who wins W/O Battaash? For us we can’t look past the value that is on GLASS SLIPPERS at 2/1* (betting odds taken from Betway at 20:59 GMT on Thursday, 30th July 2020).

She was in hot form last season and even though she was almost 6th lengths back of Battaash at Royal Ascot on her return, a cleaner run there should have gotten her closer.

The only other one that we see in contention is former course and distance winner LIBERTY BEACH who has been in strong, consistent form.

He gave a good account of himself last time out as he finished third in a Group 2 effort at Newmarket three weeks ago. He will be out for a defence after winning last year’s renewal.

COMMUNIQUE has been rattling the crossbar on his last couple of efforts. It has been back to back runners-up finishes from him and it’s worth noting he won a couple of Group 2 efforts last year. He brings leading claims to the table and is a course and distance winner.

The other pick for the race is ALOUNAK who ran really well on an Ascot trip recently to score a second place finish in the Hardwicke Stakes (Group 2). He disappointed a little on his subsequent effort at Newmarket, but if he rediscovers that Ascot form he could muscle his way in.

There is plenty of promise about THANK YOU NEXT. She scored a win on the all-weather at Kempton in a minor fixture. She was powerful and dominant there and may enjoy the jump back to turf for her handicap debut.

She has taken back to back runners-up finishes, the most recent one happening at Newbury two weeks ago. Looks to be a lively contender.

We have to have a look at VENTURA DIAMOND who scored a fourth place finish on her debut (ahead of Rhythm) in a Sandown maiden. Based on that it looks as if the extra furlong is going to be a perfect fit for her.

We have to look for what little experience there is in this fixture. RHYTHM therefore fits the bill with Ryan Moore booked. A 6th of 12 at Sandown in a maiden is her only run so far, but improvement is likely.
