Goal Scoring Minutes – stats for betting

There are a number of strategies built around the time goals are scored. Whilst they’re not really my cup of tea, there is almost certainly many others who are "in to" them.
So I’m will give my slant on the ability of the Premiership teams and their scoring habits.
Goals scored during the FIRST TEN MINUTES features in many strategies.

Stats refer to last season. Relegated teams have not been considered.
Surprisingly the team with the best record for this niche, is Sunderland. They found the net 11 times in the first ten minutes of their games. 7 of these games were at home. 36.8% of home games.  Chelsea were next, scoring in 5 home games and Liverpool third, scoring four times.
Best away record for the first 10 minutes is by Manchester City with 5 strikes.
Separating the home scores from the aways makes interesting reading.
I have looked at the scoring ability of each team as follows.

AT HOME FIRST HALF.
 1 – 10 mins.  11 – 20 mins.  21 – 30 mins.  31 – 40 mins.  41 – 45+ mins.
SUNDERLAND 7   CHELSEA    6   ARSENAL    7   MAN. CITY  9   MAN. CITY   6
CHELSEA    5   STOKE. C.  5   CHELSEA    6   MAN. UTD   8   WEST HAM    6
               SPURS      5   LIVERPOOL  5   CHELSEA    6   CHELSEA     5

The last 5 minute period must be considered a little differently as there is ADDED TIME to think about.
The above figures prove that defences just can’t relax against CHELSEA at any time.

AT HOME SECOND HALF.
46 – 55 mins.  56 – 65 mins.  66 – 75 mins.  76 – 85 mins.  86 – 90+ mins.
MAN. UTD   7   CHELSEA   13   SUNDERLAND 7   MAN. UTD.  8   CHELSEA    10
CHELSEA    6   MAN. UTD.  7   FULHAM     7   ARSENAL    8   EVERTON    10
SPURS      6   ARSENAL    7   MAN. CTY.  6   CHELSEA    6   MAN. UTD.   8
                              BLACKBURN  6                  ARSENAL     7

Man Utd and Chelsea appear in 4 out of 5 time slots. Chelsea however do seem to be the more potent of the two sides. Their record for the first 20 minutes of the half equates to one goal every game during this period. No mean feat.
Evertons 10 goals in the last period goes to prove that they don’t give-up.

AWAY FIRST HALF.
 1 – 10 mins.  11 – 20 mins.  21 – 30 mins.  31 – 40 mins.  41 – 45+ mins.
MAN. CTY.  5   ASTON. V.  4   ASTON. V.  5   ARSENAL    5   CHELSEA     5
SUNDERLAND 4   ARSENAL    3   W.H.U.     4   CHELSEA    4   BIRM. CTY.  4
BOLTON     3   CHELSEA    3   MAN. UTD.  4   MAN. UTD.  3   ARSENAL     4
               EVERTON    3   MAN. CTY.  4   BLACKBURN  3   EVERTON     3

It does appear that away from home even the top sides find goals hard to come by.  Aston Villa’s purple patch will be worth watching, however.

AWAY SECOND HALF.
46 – 55 mins.  56 – 65 mins.  66 – 75 mins.  76 – 85 mins.  86 – 90+ mins.
WOLVES     5   MAN. UTD.  6   MAN. UTD.  5   SPURS      7   MAN. CTY.   5
CHELSEA    4   WIGAN      5   SPURS      4   MAN. UTD.  6   CHELSEA     5
ARSENAL    4   LIVERPOOL  4   BIRM. CTY. 4   CHELSEA    5   ARSENAL     5
                              SUNDERLAND 4   EVERTON    5   CHELSEA     4

These figures don’t tell us very much, except that some of the less fancied sides come up with the goods when least expected. Could it be that the home sides tend to get a little complacent when playing thier, assumed, lesser brothers.

EACH TEAMS PREFERRED MINUTES.

In no particular order ar ethe teams "best effort" by times.

There are many ways these stats could be used. Sometimes, where there is good liquidity, it will be possible to scalp a few ticks, even before Kick-off.
I’m sure someone out there will find good use for these figures. They’re there to be expanded upon.
