Kitty’s Light 4/1 FAV in Gold Cup Handicap Chase Racing Odds

KITTY’S LIGHT has taken back to back runner-up finishes and he does keep finding new advances in form.

So he’s probably not going to be far away on the weekend.

Kitty’s Light is the 4/1 FAV in Gold Cup handicap chase odds* (odds recorded at 17:52 GMT on April 22nd 2022 at Bet365).

Those last two efforts have been in a Kempton Handicap and then the Scottish Grand National.

At Ayr for the Scottish Grand National, he was well beaten by Win My Wings but is 12lb better off to his stablemate when they meet again.

That puts an interesting spin on this race and Kitty’s Light is not without a chance on Saturday.

Win My Wings
11/2

Win My Wings hampered by the handicapper?

It’s hard to argue that a 14lb rise isn’t justifiable for WIN MY WINGS on the weekend.

She is the current 11/2 third favourite in Gold Cup Handicap Chase odds* (odds recorded at 17:52 GMT on April 22nd 2022 at Bet365).

That says so much about her form and ability with that extra weight in mind.

She has thrived under some big tests of stamina, winning her last three.

The big pieces from this current winning streak was her win in the Eider at Newcastle and then the Scottish National.

The handicapper had given her an extra 8lb at Ayr, but she breezed it by a wide margin under this rider.

If she does the same with the latest hike, then that will be a wow moment.

Is Enrilo set for a big run?

Even though the results look fairly bare in the recent form for ENRILO he is potentially a big player in this.

Last season was his first over the fences and he did pretty well in it.

He won last year’s renewal of this race from a mark of just 1lb lower before the stewards took the win away from him.

This season he fell in the Ladbrokes Trophy on his reappearance run, before pulling up at Cheltenham with good excuses.

His last run did see him get home, with a fourth-place finish at Kempton.

Enrilo is unexposed at these big marathon distances. But he’s done before and may just need the rub of the green.

Regardless Enrilo is a 7/2 option* (odds recorded at 17:52 GMT on April 22nd 2022 at Bet365).

Potterman is respected in this field

POTTERMAN is an interesting inclusion in this race as he got back to winning ways last time out.

He is a current 11/1 option as a bet365 Gold Cup Handicap Chase tip* (odds recorded at 17:52 GMT on April 22nd 2022 at Bet365).

His form has been up and down this season without question.

He’s completed two of five efforts, but his latest, a win at Kelso puts him in the picture.

That was a good return to form by Potterman in what was a smaller field.

Flegmatik brings winning form

An interesting case can be made for FLEGMATIK who has unlocked some good ability in this sphere.

On his penalty run, Flegmatik took a win in a Kempton handicap.

For that, he was given an extra 7lb to work with on his follow up, which he took in his stride to win at the same venue.

He’s been away for a couple of months since then and is exposed at anything above 3m.

But he’s interesting at 8/1 as the stamina test may suit* (odds recorded at 17:52 GMT on April 22nd 2022 at Bet365).

Others to note

MUSICAL SLAVE is seeking a hattrick and returns at the same mark as he was for a score at Haydock last week.

If this isn’t too soon for him, place claims could be there in what is a tougher race.

CAP DU NORD is a frustrating one to follow but is capable when he gets things right.

There are question marks about this kind of distance of him, but there is no forlorn hope.

FIDUX is a likeable one and was fourth in the Scottish Grand National three weeks ago.

He was heavily beaten, but that should give him place claims at least for Saturday.

HEWICK is another that could pique interest. He won the Durham National in October and was travelling well in the Midlands National on his latest too.

He was brought down unfortunately in that one by a wayward horse but was shaping wheel.

Predictions & Tips for Gold Cup Handicap Chase Odds

The first selection as a Gold Cup Handicap Chase tip is WIN MY WINGS at 11/2* (odds recorded at 17:52 GMT on April 22nd 2022 at Bet365).

The form has been nothing short of specular and she has proven she has big tests of stamina in her. Does she have it with an extra 14lb? It’s not beyond the realms of probability.

KITTY’S LIGHT is a likeable one and as he is so much better off in the weights against Win My Wings, he has to be in a with a chance this time from 4/1* (odds recorded at 17:52 GMT on April 22nd 2022 at Bet365).

The final selection for the shortlist is POTTERMAN at 11/1* (odds recorded at 17:52 GMT on April 22nd 2022 at Bet365).

He was a realistic third in last year’s renewal of this. He’s been up and down this season but arrives in form for a potentially bold bid.
