Stradivarius 7/4 FAV in Goodwood Cup Racing Odds

He is back. The brilliant STRADIVARIUS is the current 7/4 favourite in Goodwood Cup racing odds* (odds recorded at 23:45 GMT on July 26th, 2021 at Coral).

He is the one to beat again by the looks of things. The classy stayer has won the last four editions of the Goodwood Cup.

In 2019 he landed the Stayers’ Triple Crown and the seven-year-old doesn’t look done yet. He picked up a win on his reappearance at Ascot in April.

He was back there for the Royal Festival on his latest and was fourth behind SUBJECTIVIST in the contest. But there were clear excuses from him there as he was denied a clear run in the Gold Cup.

Stradivarius defends his unbeaten course record at Goodwood and with Frankie Dettori back in the saddle, who eased Stradivarius back at Royal Ascot when the chance of victory had waned, he may once again rule supreme.

Spanish Mission the biggest challenger?

SPANISH MISSION came on brilliantly to take third place at Ascot on his latest effort. That was in the Gold Cup.

It was a third-place finish that Andrew Balding’s 5-year-old dug out there. So that should give Spanish Mission some big claims on Tuesday.

Spanish Mission was in this contest last year but only managed a sixth-place finish. But now with a different yard and thriving, he could well go better.

On his penalty run, Spanish Mission collected a win in the Yorkshire Cup and could have an interesting say in this from 11/2* (odds recorded at 23:45 GMT on July 26th, 2021 at Coral).

Can Trueshan get himself in the picture?

TRUESHAN was thriving last year and he has produced a couple of very good wins this season already.

On his reappearance run, Trueshan finished runner-up in the Ormonde Stakes. He then took a pass on Royal Ascot because conditions were not right for him there.

But he appeared in the Northumberland Stakes a month ago and ran an absolute blinder to take sixth place in that off a high mark.

Hollie Doyle is booked and has won three of four rides on him.

Trueshan looks to have place claims in the Goodwood Cup from 2/1* (odds recorded at 23:45 GMT on July 26th, 2021 at Coral).

  • 2017 Stradivarius, J & T Gosden, Andrea Atzeni, 6/ 1
  • 2016 Big Orange, Jamie Spencer, 11/ 4

Does Sir Ron Priestley have enough?

A reliable sort, SIR RON PRIESTLEY could have a big say in the Goodwood Cup racing odds from 11/2* (odds recorded at 23:45 GMT on July 26th, 2021 at Coral).

He collected a win at Newmarket on his latest, picking up a win in the Group 2 Princess Of Wales’s Stakes.

That was the third win for him in his last five runs. So there has been excellent seasonal form from Mark Johnston’s 5-year-old.

Sir Ron Priestley just made all on the July Course to get the Princess Of Wales’s and that means that he should rate a threat.

He has course form as well having scored in two of his three previous efforts at Goodwood.

Amhran Na Bhfiann could have a say

He never had a chance in the Gold Cup, but AMHRAN NA BHFIANN has some claims in Goodwood Cup racing odds.

He is a quote of 33/1 so is an each-way option* (odds recorded at 23:45 GMT on July 26th, 2021 at Coral).

There have been two wins from him this season, but it was his most recent that was the standout piece of form.

Amrhan Na Bhfiann put in an eye-catching run at the International Curragh Cup (Group 2) a month ago.

That was something special as he had dropped back on the trip and connections took away the blinkers, which stay off for Tuesday’s action.

Rest of the runners

AWAY HE GOES looked excellent in the Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan in March. He was last seen at York a couple of weeks ago when he went very well in defeat again.

EMPEROR OF THE SUN won a Leopardstown Listed fixture in May, which was his penultimate run. He was last seen at the Ascot Gold Cup, claiming a credible fifth-place finish.

MEKONG has been away from action for four months now. He hasn’t won since 2018 and looks as if he may have a lot to find in this one.

NAYEF ROAD is no forlorn hope for Goodwood Cup racing on Tuesday. He was runner up in this a year ago.

Nayef Road hasn’t quite been at his top level this season but shaped much better to claim a sixth-place finish at the Gold Cup on his latest.

SANTIAGO was seventh in the Ascot Gold Cup on his latest, never looking like a threat. That came after a runner up finish to Spanish Mission in the Yorkshire Cup.

2020 Derby winner SERPENTINE and lacked the stamina to make an impact at the Ascot Gold Cup on his latest after being supplemented. He has a lot on his hands.

Predictions & Tips for Goodwood Cup Racing Racing Odds

Brilliant stayer STRADIVARIUS is still the one to beat and he is well worth lacking for that history fifth title.

Stradivarius is a quote of 7/4 to get the job done once again at a venue at which he thrives* (odds recorded at 23:45 GMT on July 26th, 2021 at Coral).

The biggest threat to the favourite could well be SPANISH MISSION who is well worth a look after going so well against some of these in the Ascot Gold Cup.

The other for the shortlist is SIR RON PRIESTLEY who can get in the thick of those.

He looked calmer than usual to take a win in the Princess Of Wales’s at Newmarket on his latest, confirming form.
