Harry and Meghan Royal Specials – Novelty Markets

Royal wedding will be an opportunity to make a profit

Novelty Betting & Other Events Betting

Prince Harry’s engagement to Meghan Markle has sparked a media frenzy but is hardly a surprise. The Prince and the Suits actress have been an item for quite a while so the tabloids have had plenty of time to write their pithy strap lines. Some desperate journalists are trying to draw a comparison between Edward and Mrs Simpson but the only similarity in their stories relate to Ms Markle being a divorcee who happens to be an American. Times, attitude and circumstances are hopefully much changed since the 1930s!

Whether Meghan will give up her acting career remains to be seen (she is being written out of her most well-known role) as she seems to be an independent and outspoken woman with forthright views on a number of subjects. However, being a princess (or more probably a duchess) does have a habit of becoming time consuming and the couple have already announced that they will marry and live in London.

In terms of preparation, it’s unlikely bookmakers were far behind the press surrounding the royal engagement but some of them have been slow to react. Those that have are also looking ahead with odds available on everything from when Meghan will fall pregnant to who will be Harry’s Best Man. After all, a Royal wedding isn’t just an opportunity to turn a profit for makers of commemorative mugs and tea towels!

Procreation is, of course, at the core of any Royal family and while Harry and any offspring have fallen down the pecking order in terms of succession, he is a son of the heir to the throne and will be expected to contribute to the Windsor dynasty. Betfred offer 4/5 that the first baby of Harry and Meghan will be a boy and 10/11 it will be a girl.

Betfred are also the bookmaker to turn to if you fancy predicting where Harry will go for his stag do, though Blackpool is a deserved long shot and even Dublin may be a bit close to home. One thing you can guarantee is that there are unlikely to be many photos of the weekend appearing on Facebook.
