The Listed EBF Eternal Fillies’ Stakes is the feature race on the second of Haydock’s two-day midweek meeting and it has attracted 13 three-year-olds.
Run over 7f, the race is normally staged as a support for the historic Carlisle Bell and Cumberland Plate but is being staged at the Lancashire track this year because of the truncated racing programme.
First contested in 2003, it began life at Warwick but, after one year at Newmarket, Carlisle became its permanent home in 2015.

Eternal Fillies’ Stakes Predictions
Carlisle is right-handed and there is a stiff climb to the finish whereas Haydock is comparatively flat and a left-handed track so comparisons to previous years may be a waste of time but Sir Michael Stoute did train the winner of the race in 2009 and will fancy the chances of Jovial.
She has only been beaten once so far but conditions this time will be totally alien to the Dubawi filly, who is upped in grade and can be backed at a general 11/2.
Under The Stars is the filly with the form in the book.
She finished sixth in the 1000 Guineas after a profitable two-year-old career. The drop back to 7f will suit James Tate’s filly (5/1 with Bet365), who appears to holds Boomer (a general 9/2) on their run together at Newmarket, though the latter probably didn’t give her true running that day.
Stylistique was highly tried last year but ran some terrific races.
Roger Varian’s filly finally got her head in front at Newbury earlier this month but made hard work of beating a rival rated 26lb lower who was conceding 7lb.
She still has a bit to prove to silence critics and is only a best 11/2 with 888sport.
Godolphin have two runners and Althiqa will wear the first colours.
William Buick’s mount is 2-2 but had only one serious rival at Newmarket earlier this month, though won easily. The daughter of Dubawi will need to take a further step forward at a general 7/2 to complete her hat-trick.
Stable companion SPRING OF LOVE could offer much more value at 15/2 with Paddy Power.
The winners have been flowing for James Doyle, who takes the reins on the once-raced filly on her return to action.
She showed inexperience on her debut at Newmarket in October but was always holding Waliyak in the closing stages.
The runner-up went to win at Wolverhampton and was second in last week’s Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot. Both her dam and a her half-sister placed in Group 3 company so there should be plenty more to come this year.
