Will Itchy Feet prove his stamina?

One of the current 7/2 joint-favourites in Rendlesham Hurdle racing betting is ITCHY FEET* (betting odds recorded at 20:00 GMT at William Hill on February 19th, 2021).

He’s a very smart hurdler and has also been going well over the fences. He was last seen at Ascot on a 2m 5f chase in December.

It was a second-place finish for Itchy Feet in that one, with reports of bleeding afterwards.

Itchy Feet makes the switch back to the hurdles for this and is a very interesting prospect.

We but certainly don’t see him as being unbeatable in such a tough race.

ON THE BLIND SIDE
7/2

On The Blind Side to get the score?

There are a couple of positive factors for ON THE BLIND SIDE in this contest from 7/2* (betting odds recorded at 20:00 GMT at William Hill on February 19th, 2021).

First, he is arriving in form there aren’t many in this field that can actually boast that. The other major factor is that the has proven stamina.

On The Blind Side has won two of our runs this season and the opening one was on his return at Cheltenham in a 3m handicap.

He picked up a score at Market Rasen on his latest run, 35 days ago and if he’s anywhere near that he will get close.

He showed a great attitude to get that recent run while under pressure from Lil Rockerfeller.

Can Emitom double up at the Rendlesham?

EMITOM claimed the win in last year’s renewal of this fixture and returns here after wind surgery. He has been out chasing twice this year and hasn’t quite looked his sharpest.

So many the op will have helped him out here. Following his win in last year’s Rendlesham, Emitom went and took a very good fourth-place finish at the Cheltenham Festival’s Stayers’.

It’s been place finishes form him in two efforts this season, so he’s not totally out of the picture in this one and should still be considered.

Based on what he has done though he may need a little bit more to double up and is a 4/1 quote to pull it off* (betting odds recorded at 20:00 GMT at William Hill on February 19th, 2021).

Main Fact a threat if he can bounce back

In November last year, MAIN FACT made his season-opening run and scored over the hurdles at a mark of 147. That was notably over course and distance.

It was also his ninth straight win, so he needs respect.

There was a below-par effort from him when he was sent to the Long Walk at Ascot over a 3m trip in December.

He never got himself into that Grade 1 fixture and was well beaten. But he’s a good-spirited horse and the type to bounce back.

On a return to Haydock, he certainly can’t be dismissed as a 13/2 shot* (betting odds recorded at 20:00 GMT at William Hill on February 19th, 2021).

The rest of the runners

THIRD WIND has a lot to find in this one. He is making the move back to hurdling after most recently having had a chase at Ascot.

Third Wind was second of three in that one, but there were reports of bleeding. He is one of those in the field who has to prove stamina.

BALLYOPTIC is not the great chasing force that he was. He was sixth at Warwick last month, showing a nice bit of form however over the fences.

This is the first time for Ballyoptic in this sphere since October 2017.

LISNAGAR OSCAR returns after a wind op and that may well give him some nice place claims.

He was the winner of last season’s Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham. That kind of form hasn’t been on display from him this season on his two effort.

But Lisnagar Oscar is a former course and distance winner and the op may have perked him up as an 8/1 option in Rendlesham Hurdle racing odds* (betting odds recorded at 20:00 GMT at William Hill on February 19th, 2021).

DONNA’S DIAMOND is the big outsider in this one. The cheekpieces go on for the first time and he has been well hard in both efforts for this season.

Donna’s Diamond likes this race though as he won it in 2018 and claimed second in last year’s renewal. But he was seventh over course and distance on his latest run, a month ago.

Predictions & Tips for Rendlesham Hurdle Racing Odds

This is a cracking race with some big players.

The obvious selection for us is going to be ON THE BLIND SIDE at 7/2* (betting odds recorded at 20:00 GMT at William Hill on February 19th, 2021).

We think he is the one to beat with proven stamina and some red-hot current form on his side. So he is the main selection in Rendlesham Hurdle betting.

MAIN FACT is the other that we are going to look at, even though he came up a long way short in the Long Walk on his latest effort.

He is a former course and distance winner and a likeable sort.

The final pick will be the 8/1 each-way shot LISNAGAR OSCAR* (betting odds recorded at 20:00 GMT at William Hill on February 19th, 2021).

We don’t think he is out of this after a wind op and is a former course and distance winner.
