Copperless the 7/2 FAV in Swinton Handicap Hurdle Odds

COPPERLESS missed out on the chance of a hattrick on her latest run. That was at Ascot a month ago.

Regardless, she enters Saturday’s fray at the Swinton Handicap Hurdle as the 7/2 favourite* (odds recorded at 18:48 GMT on May 7th, 2021 at Betway).

To be fair, Copperless was steaming along well at Ascot before falling two from home.

She would have been there or thereabouts for the win if that hadn’t have happened.

There is more progress on the cards from her still and she looks like a massive threat in this one.

The one slight question mark could be over her confidence having had a bad fall.

But in terms of form and ability she is going to be right there.

CAMPROND
15/2

Shanroe to return in style

SHANROE is under some big weight for her return which may be asking a lot of her.

She is a quote of 7/1 and second favourite in Swinton Handicap Hurdle Betting, so she is respected* (odds recorded at 18:48 GMT on May 7th, 2021 at Betway).

Shanroe arrives on the back of a score at Fairyhouse last month in a handicap hurdle and she just powered clear in that one.

It has been a good year or so for her, but we don’t know if she handles this weight in a competitive field.

Camprond the way to go?

We think there is a big challenge to come from CAMPROND in the Swinton Handicap Hurdle. She is a quote of 15/2* (odds recorded at 18:48 GMT on May 7th, 2021 at Betway).

There was an excellent second place finish for her at Aintree in a handicap on her latest run. That was her handicap debut last month.

Camprond was going extremely well but couldn’t do quite enough to hold off the challenge of Rowland Ward over the trip.

That was the same race in which Copperless fell a couple out. There is a 9lb rise for Camprond to handle on Saturday.

We think that he is progressive enough and willing enough to take that and run with it.

Rowland Ward to get in the mix again

Fresh off a win at Aintree, with some of these behind him, ROWLAND WARD will once again pique some interest from a quote of 9/1* (odds recorded at 18:48 GMT on May 7th, 2021 at Betway).

He kept on well to take the win ahead of Camprond in that Aintree fixture and the two of them were well clear of anyone else.

There is a 10lb rise that Rowland Ward has been hit with and that’s a lot. But it is just enough to see him competitive seeing as Comprond comes up 9lb.

The tongue tie stays on as that helped him last time out and there are certainly place claims at the very least for him.

Does Hooper have more to offer?

HOOPER has been on the up for Nicky Henderson and he enters the fray with a 7lb conditional on his back.

There is a quote of 11/1 on the win for Hooper in this exciting contest* (odds recorded at 18:48 GMT on May 7th, 2021 at Betway).

24 days ago Hooper took another sizable step forward with his progress as he secured a hat-trick.

That was achieved by three and a half lengths over NORDIC COMBINED.

Hooper comes up 7lb in the ratings but it will be fascinating to see how much more he has in him under some very testing conditions.

Others to note

NORDIC COMBINED won a week ago. That was a victory at Hexham last weekend. He is in good shape at the moment. This is a stiff contest though and he will seriously have to get his head down to get in the mix.

TEQANY will have to produce a career best to get his nose in front here. He has the ability but has to defy top weight in this one. Last year Teqany was rocking around in listed and Graded company. He knows what this is all about.

Another that needs to progress more is HISTORIC HEART. He took a decent third place finish at Perth over 2m a couple of weeks ago. This is a tougher race than that, and he has to deal with a 7lb rise.

Predictions & Tips for Swinton Handicap Hurdle Racing Odds

There are plenty of claims in this contest and our top selection is CAMPROND at 15/2* (odds recorded at 18:48 GMT on May 7th, 2021 at Betway).

We think that there is more to come from him after a good experience at Aintree in a tough race last time out.

COPPERLESS has to be in the frame as she likely would have been in that Aintree contest recently when she fell.

As long as she’s not rattled from that, there should be a strong challenge.

We like the look of HOOPER as a slightly longer priced option for the contest.

He has tremendous ability and a good claimer will help Nicky Henderson’s gelding potentially be competitive.
